If the men protecting starter Mike Glennon’s blind side show up and earn their giant salaries in Pittsburgh on Sunday, then the Bucs should have a prayer.
If not, well, Glennon is going to stand out like the statuesque figure he is. There will be plenty of Glennon quickly entering a fetal position — rather than throw stupid interceptions like Josh McCown did during his short career as the Bucs starter.

I think its more of the coordinator calling plays so that they dont get Glennon in predictable pass situations.
Pittsburg will TEE-OFF on Glennon if they know he has to pass.
IT could get ugly.

I saw Glennon at Busch Gardens not too long ago.. I walked up to him from behind, tapped him on his shoulder, and he went straight into the fetal position.

The Blindside is not the problem. The person that hikes the ball is the weak leak in the line. If they can fix him then Glennon has a chance Sunday..

Exactly time is everything which is why #8 is the future at QB for the Bucs, and I’m not talking about Glennon. It’s Mariota.

I think in most cases the Bucs would rather have a guy take a sack and have another play then have someone back there throwing up floaters off his back foot that get picked off. Sorry Pineapple MCCown Mob but Glennon is an instant upgrade at QB this week.

Fletcher has really stood out to me. He did struggle early on vs the Falcons as it looked like he was trying to do to much, But once he settled in, he played lights out. Needs to work on his pass coverage, but inside the box he’s pretty darn good, especially as a pass rusher getting in on a sack. I’ll be watching him closely on Sunday.

My wife calls him “Big Bird” which seems pretty fitting. However, He is, or at least I hope, an upgrade over McCown. McCown made me a nervous wreck and it was not just his pathetic play but my fear that my wife was going to throw something at him and break my new TV.

I don’t know if the Bucs will win Sunday but at least I will watch now that Glennon is playing. I personally cannot stomach watching a journeyman McCown play anymore. What is the point playing a washed up QB anyway. Trying to repeat history by hiring this Dungy clone Lovie was literally taking a giant step backward. I was not a fan of Dungy and his stubborn ass style then nor am I now. It is boring football with no emotion. They should of hired Rob Ryan. Not a big fan of his either but at least he shows emotion and is entertaining.

I’m thinking the Bucs O line have their best game of the season, giving MG enough time to find an open receiver or two. A guy can dream can’t he? Some dreams do materialize.

You guys with your comments regarding Glennon’s looks sound like teenage girls. I don’t care if he looks like Sloth from The Goonies, if he plays well that’s all that matters.

Glennon does a great job anticipating his WR’s routes and getting the ball out his hand quickly when he’s under pressure. My only 2 issues with Glennon last year was that he rarely took shots down the field and he also struggles when he gets forced to come out of the pocket and roll to his left. Hopefully he worked on that this off-season and it was the coaches last year that weren’t allowing him to take risks.

Hey, sounds like what i’ve harped on McCown…having little to no time to throw. Glennon needs double the time lol…sacked once in 11 snaps…but hes right, OL play is critical.

I disagree about his assessment on Ike Taylor….Steven Jackson kinda jacked us up on a few runs…nothing huge though, but enough to keep the down and distance very manageable in a pass happy offense. The Steelers were very pas happy last year, perhaps because they were behind in games. Buccs are still stingy vs. the run, and ike taylor isnt as big as Steven Jackson…but a little quicker. Blount, well is Blount…either really good game, or the tip toe burglar….and blount isnt likely to see many carries unless its a blow-out like it was in CAR. The Buccs forte has been stopping the run, and I feel we should have moderate success going forward vs the Steelers despite mason foster (lansana did a nice job and is gaining confidence)

I thought Ike Taylor had a snapped arm at Carolina. Hmm, even if he is out his backup will probably have a career game if the Bucs pick on him (kind of like how Harry Douglas always has a good game vs the Bucs when Roddy White is out and then goes back into hibernation until the Falcons play the Bucs again)…. If the O-line can protect Glennon, sure the Bucs could throw to their 2 big guys (not 3 as Sefarian-Jenkins has kind of disappeared in the Bermuda triangle) the question is if the ball is caught and there are no holding flags on the play (somehow I think we’ll see a lot of yellow flags on Sunday). On defense watch out for Heath Miller, that SOB will probably reel off a few catches as he has been silent in the first 3 games. If Mason Foster has a big game that means that he will be tackling Bell and Blount a lot after they are into the second level and have beaucoup yards…. Perhaps McCoy can make a difference, he has to help even if he is only 50%….. I think it is curious that the Bucs are only 7.5 to 9 point underdogs; this means that some of the smart money thinks that Tampa might put up a fight and keep it close, I hope they are right but I still predict another Bucs loss though losing 26-19 (Bucs cover and degenerate gamblers lose coin) would be better to watch than the 41-9 @sswhipping that I am half expecting….. Moral victories are still losses, they just give Lovie something positive to say….
