Mike Smith Ready For McCoy’s Broken Hand

September 18th, 2014

mike smithFalcons fans sure have their fingers crossed and their lucky sweaters on hoping Gerald McCoy is unavailable tonight.

Joe’s sure McCoy won’t play after breaking a bone on the left side of his left hand against the Rams. However …

Falcons head coach Mike Smith very matter-of-factly told Atlanta media that he’s been around plenty of players who have played with broken hands and fingers and more.

Smith was very convincing in the video shot yesterday. He sure seems that he’s not sold on McCoy resting for tonight’s primetime event.

    News Flash

Atlanta coach Mike Smith has decided to start backup QB TJ Yates over Matt Ryan tonight vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith noted, “This roster change guarantees a victory.”

I’m not comfortable as a Bucs fan unless we are getting embarrassed on the field. I just don’t know how to act otherwise. So…go Bucs?

    McCoy is Soft.

    Today’s Players are soft.

Lawerence Taylor played with a broken foot.

Steve Deberg Played with a hand in cast.

Countless linemen played with broken hands and arms while wearing a massive club on their arm from the 80’s and 90’s.

Get the sand out of your va jay jay and get on the field.

  7. ToesOnTheLine Says:

Hopefully McCoy can go tonight because honestly this is the only game in the next few that look like a favorable matchup for the Bucs. Win tonight or 0-6 looks quite possible 🙁

  8. BoJim Says:

You guys are stupid. A DT needs to get both hands on his opponents. Can’t do that with a fricken club on his hand. LB’s do a pretty good job at it. DT’s, not so much. It’s only been four days. Why don’t you guys try beating off with a broken hand. Probably start crying. Besides, I don’t think McCoy should risk further injury for some knuckleheads. I’d like him to be around for a while. Soft? Go one on one with him. lol

well, I got up before 4 am this morning. wonder if i’ll be snoozing by 1/2 time.

my money would be on snoozing. at this point it’s a better use of your time than watching this $hit L&L have put together. and it aint the players. it’s the game plan, conservative and who they are starting (mcclown) and who they have traded way.

what a joke, but i’ll tune in and hope i am wrong!

Don’t you have to go check your cousin for a yeast infection or something. Some gators u should be hunting or cooking some squirrels of something.

A real leader like warren sapp plays w a broken hand. I bet Suh would play w a broken hand but then again Suh too hard to break anything.

  13. Brian Says:

I’m not buying it either…I think he plays.

  14. Buc1987 Says:

I don’t think Falcons fans are worried one way or the other whether he plays or not.

0-3 “We don’t expect our fans to be patient”- Lap dog GM Jason Licht.

Soft huh? The things people will say from the safety of a keyboard really amaze me. What a ball bag you are buddy. There are a couple players on this team that may deserve some ridicule. Many have brought it on themselves, but McCoy is not only a stand out player but the leader on this team.
Oh and by the way, Lawrence Taylor and many of the other players from the 80s and 90s, were so coked up that they probably could have played through a gun shot wound. Just sayin

  16. BUC4LIFE79 Says:

I’m sorry but I do not like Atlanta or their head coach..the guy looks like he was Bozo the clown’s illegitimate child.

  17. Buccfan37 Says:

I don’t like Atlanta or their coach either. But I don’t like New Orleans or their coach even more.

  18. Tnew Says:

If this was a Sunday game he would play but not coming off of the short week.

  21. Nuc if u nuc Says:

Broken hands heal fast, put a cast on it and let him crack some helmets with that piece

  22. Zam Says:

Without one hand, McCoy instantly becomes Michael Johnson… a fantastic pass rusher until he touches another human being.

  23. DB55 Says:

    @Andres

Wow!! His whole arm was broken not just a hand. He chucked Larry Allen with one hand. McCoy can’t do that. On second thought maybe he should sit and handout ice cream to the team. I hear he likes to do that.
