Bucs In Full Blown Freefall Mode

September 14th, 2014

big nasty

Damn it to hell, Joe thought it was embarrassing enough to get carved up the likes of Derek Anderson last week with the Stinking Panthers. It couldn’t think it could get much worse than that. Right?

It does! Today, the Bucs lost to the Lambs with a friggin’ third string quarterback, the immortal Austin Davis. Austin Davis, sounds like some benchwarmer for Duke’s basketball team.

Austin Davis, who is so good and played so much with the Lambs (sarcasm, folks) that Dashon Goldson told Joe the Bucs had so little film of him they couldn’t prepare too well.

Jiminy Christmas! If the Bucs cannot contain the likes of scrub Anderson and third string Davis, what exactly do you think is going to happen when the Bucs travel to Atlanta Thursday to play Matty Ice and the Dixie Chicks? Or the next week when the Bucs travel to Pittsburgh to face Ben Roethlisberger? Or the following week when the Bucs travel to New Orleans to battle Drew Brees? Or the week after that when the Bucs host Joe Flacco?

This team is going to have to get its s(p)it straight in a damn hurry and get it straight now! If the Bucs can’t handle castoffs like Anderson and Davis, then just how in the hell are they going to handle three guys with Super Bowl rings and a fourth who is one of the game’s top gunslingers?

It’s enough for Joe to jump off that damned pirate ship.

Lovie is in WAY over his head….I listened to his press conference yesterday and was underwhemled by his monotoned empty words…then by chance I listened to a long interview with #55 on all sorts of subject…a stark contrast in leadership and answering questions. Lovie is an empty suit that has been swept to this point in life by his association with the greatness of others. I don’t mean to be harsh…but that is what I see……

  2. NJBucsFan Says:

There comes that time when you have to take your parent’s car keys from them because the act of driving has passed them by. We may have seen the equivalent with Lovie’s coaching.

  3. Theodore Says:

Joe – You don’t jump off pirate ships. You walk off the plank.

  4. NewTampaChris Says:

These were the two most winnable games of the first six. What fun it will be to cheer for another 0-6 team.

  5. bucrightoff Says:

Fact: We’d be 1-1 at worst with Schiano as coach.

  6. Zach Says:

    It’s week 2 Joe

  7. Incognito Says:

I was overly optimistic about Lovie. Having said that I think well be luck to win a single game this year.

  9. iamkingsu Says:

We r going to play better against the better qbs because its going to test there patience. but lovie was supposed to get after Anderson and Davis smdh. He bn out theleague too long

  10. Robert7 Says:

Davis looked like an all pro. I’d take him over mic clown x 4

  11. FR Says:

0-6 Thats what its going to happen.

  12. iamkingsu Says:

You attack back ups and don’t let them get comfortable. Football 101.

  13. lightningbuc Says:

At least we got rid of that big meanie, Schiano!

Lovie’s a joke – but at least he respects the players by giving them whizzi.nators, wearing flip-flops, and not allowing cussing.

  14. The Ether Says:

Injuries happen… to all 32 teams… Just look at who we just played against, losing their franchise QB… But they got the best out of their 53…

Our guy… Lovie??? Hate to say, but the man’s comin off as too soft… His GM signed FAT contracts, makin us look like paper champions… But from there, you need a REAL HC to get that investment outta them… And Lovie just isnt doing that… He’s dishing out as much floppy hats as the Glazers are dishing out dollars…

I cant even put this on our flacid O, or our gaping wide D…. Its all on Lovie.

  15. Chef Paul Says:

The NFL has figured out they can get a 15 yard pass on us anytime they need one. It’s always there, without fail.

All preseason. And both games this year.

  16. RealityCheck Says:

@Zach – WTF is your point? Yes, it’s week 2 and we are 0-2 and we are now facing teams way better than the two teams that just beat us with their backups. AND the injuries are already piling up.

    But….”It’s week 2″.

  17. Westsidebucsfan Says:

So sad to be a BUCS fan…. Been one since 98. Glad I have season tickets to the chargers… At least I get to see some type of winning team! It’s a BUCS life!

  18. gotbbucs Says:

I probably wont watch again until they put a QB in there thats younger than his QB coach.

  19. Roger Goodell Says:

With the first pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select…

  20. Loubucfan Says:

We’re F’D!!!!!!! Might as well plan for draft day in freaking WEEK 2 of the F’ing season!!!! REALLY LOVIE! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. DB55 Says:

Lightning gets points. At least he respects the players. Lol

  22. Buc1987 Says:

    I miss Greg Schiano.

  23. DB55 Says:

    Gotbbucs – points

  24. Robert7 Says:

Seriously considering becoming a dolphins fan since I live in south fl and pay to see this $hit. If I was a season ticket holder I would be really pissed

  25. FloridaGirl Says:

Dear Buccaneers ticket office – don’t bother sending the season pass renewal offer. I’m done. It’s not just two games – it’s the whole off season load of crap for the past 5 years that you want the fans to believe. Mark it down.

  26. muskee98 Says:

First time for comments. No leadership on field. I saw first hand Josh M throw a temper tantrum or two after lobbing interception. We heard what he could be but we are seeing what he is now.

  27. DB55 Says:

@Jeez guys it’s only week 2. New o, new d, new staff. Give the guy a break. I hate stupid fans like you. You think cuz we’re losing and look like an embarrassment out there you think you know more than professionals. I’ve been a fan since the civil war and this is the 2nd best team I’ve ever seen. Tailgating to atl, who’s with me?@

  28. Buc1987 Says:

I knew this “we don’t expect our fans to be patient” nonsense would backfire if they fail to live up to it. Season ticket holders are going to leave in droves this season. Never mind the new holders, because of that “we don’t expect our fans to be patient” line, the ones that drank the Kool-Aid. They are never buying again.

  29. JJ Says:

I did not expect a lot on offense but did think we could make quick throws to our tall receivers. Not! Idid have hopes for defense and am surprised they s*ck at most everything. Two of the worst in the league could move the ball at will against us. I’m done. See you next year.

  30. Jon Says:

I miss coach Schiano too. Come on! The Bucs lost games against both the 2nd and 3rd string backu QBs. AT HOME!!!

  31. Robert7 Says:

True 87. When we ever play not to lose? It’s the bucs motto and we all know how that turns out

  32. Waterboy Says:

The season is far from over but these were two very winnable games and I’m quickly losing confidence in that Tampa-2 scheme in the new NFL. Not to mention that they can’t get pressure with the front 4 of the d-line so the linebackers end up cheating up and end up getting burned on play-action passes.

  33. Pelbuc Says:

New coaches and GM and same old sh&t. The Glazers should do us fans a favor and sell this pathetic franchise and move them out of tampa. Unbelievable the level of incompetence of this organization year after year. You’d think that at least by accident they would be able to field a decent team once every 10-12 years. Mentally and physically weak across the board. The Lovie experiment is a failure. He’ll, we didn’t need to fire Schaino and turnover the roster for this crap. Season is already over!. Wow. Not hiring Kelley set us back another 5-7 years at least. Unfreaking believable!

  34. Buc1987 Says:

    I don’t care. I still love em!

    Go Bucs!

  35. Queezie Says:

Yall so called bucs fans have no chill. 1-1 with Schiano you are sleep! We have 5 starting players out of our front defensive seven and one being our team captain. Add that to that fact that we are coming off of a 4-12 season with holes abound offensively and defensively. The only mistake this regime has made so far is getting fans expectations up before any games were played. This isn’t basketball, adding 1 player like Lebron James does not make you a contender. You need elite talent and depth! Also, I have been seeing many post about the Tampa 2 being out of date. That may be true, but you wouldn’t know it from the defense the bucs are playing right now! It’s not the Tampa 2. In the tampa 2 your safety isn’t at the line of scrimmage covering the tight end every play. That is what is happening with Barron and Goldson. Until we can get a couple of safeties that can cover and some DEs that can rush the passers our D will continue to be swiss cheese.

  36. DB55 Says:

    Buc1987. You forgot the @@

  37. Mike Smith Says:

Ok, we got Tampa coming on Thursday, they can’t beat backup QBs, so we should give Matt Ryan the night off.

  38. BirdDoggers Says:

If Lovie’s wants to rely on his defense, he’ll have to find another scheme. The four man pass rush isn’t working and when a third string QB can pass the ball on you, you’re in trouble.

  39. CJO Says:

This team is hyped up joke… 0-2 to start the season playing two conference without their starting QBs is pathetic.

  40. Queezie Says:

The bucs are playing more man coverage than Tampa 2 people! The middle linebacker was blitzing and our safeties at the line of scrimmage. That is not Tampa 2. Clear indication of some sort of man coverage or zone blitz in those scenarios. We don’t have the talent to play Tampa 2 effectively!

  41. Alex2013 Says:

Lovie admitted after the game he played not to lose by being cautious on that 3rd down before the half…Why can’t we play to win!!!!!!!

  42. kevin maaser Says:

Most intelligent teams know to draft a quarterback if there is a need with a 1st round pick .

  43. buc4lyfe Says:

Dashon Goldson told Joe the Bucs had so little film of him they couldn’t prepare too well.

Who game plans for a third string quarterback. Schiano weeded out the wrong players then brought in more leeches. After this loss you can do nothing but accept that this team isn’t talented enough to complete… We’ll see Thursday how tough they are, who would want to be embarrassed in front of the world. Primetime blow out loss would be an embarrassment to the franchise like losing to the lambs

  45. Fort Myers Dave Says:

I had a bad feeling about today’s game, maybe its because I have been a Buc fan since 1976 and simply remembering all the darn games the Bucs have lost to an opponent they should have beaten…. All of us could have gotten very rich by simply betting against the Bucs everytime they have been favored the past several years! Today is another thrown away win to add to that long list games the Bucs should have won but gave away…. The Bucs do not have an OC calling plays (so why the hell is Tedford even at Ray Jay?!?!?!), the head coach obviously is playing not to lose and does not trust his QB thus making our Bucs very one dimensional and the defense simply is not talented enough to win games like those great defenses the Bucs had from 1997 through 2003…. The special teams were a disgrace, Luke Stocker should be outright released after he missed that key block on the blocked FG. This team will be lucky to go 4-12. I put a lot of the blame on the Glazer kids, they have simply run the franchise into the ground after they took over from Malcolm… Sell the team to Eddie DeBartolo and perhaps the Bucs will quit being the laughingstock of the NFL…..

  46. Thebucssuck14 Says:

I don’t know how much more of this I can stand. The defense is horrible, they can’t stop the run, the middle of the field is wide open every play for the taking. I don’t care who is hurt WE SUCK!!

  47. bucco drew Says:

Alex2013….you asked why we cant play to win the game? And lovie says he plays not to lose…then exactly what is lovie playing for???

  48. bucstop.com Says:

Thank God we didn’t have social media when Tony Dungy took over this team in 1996, you people would have called for his job by week two then too!

The reason were 0-2 is we just don’t have that good of a roster, and we’ve lost a lot of those players too!

Thats what happens when you change regimes every two years. So get used to Lovie Ball, you will like it when the Bucs are winning 12 games a year 19-17 won’t you?

  49. phil Says:

Can we get some “FIRE LOVIE” billboards? The Glazer seem to listen to them.

  50. BucsRokk26 Says:

You worried about the defense now, Joe? I am….. Pathetic!!!
