Scam Newton

September 9th, 2014

A prominent former Buccaneer weighs in with firm language

Jonathan Casillas already grinned in the sad Bucs postgame locker room Sunday and talked about how his former Saints teams were ones to play games with the NFL injury report.

That was in response to a question about the Panthers possibly lying about Cam Newton’s health.

A prominent former Buccaneer, however, has flat out called the Panthers scam artists in what they pulled leading up to Sunday’s Bucs-Panthers game.

Reasoned and seasoned Dave Moore, a 16-year NFL veteran Xs and Os voice of the Buccaneers Radio Network, called shenanigans on Ron Rivera.

“You know that they knew all week that Cam Newton wasn’t going to play. They played the media,” Moore said on the Ron and Ian show on WDAE-AM 620 this week. “They said he was questionable. So Anderson got the reps. It wasn’t like Cam got hurt in practice during the week. So he took all the reps.”

Those were strong words from Moore, who is not one for hyperbole.

Joe agrees, and Joe thinks it stinks that the NFL surely won’t investigate the situation. Perhaps they’re too busy figuring out why TMZ easily obtained a video the NFL couldn’t get its hands on.

Doesn’t matter. Arrogant cam is better than stupid anderson and we should’ve been ready no matter what.

  2. Buc1987 Says:

I think you’re both right. Game time decision my ass. Cam should have been listed as out all week not questionable. If that’s what Lovie game planned for, then he did get hoodwinked by Rivera.

  3. bucsfan777 Says:

I had a feeling they were pulling our leg all week with this non-sense, a low blow by the panthers

  4. DIEHARDBUCS Says:

I agree, cam would of steam rolled us now that I see our offense can’t do shit. I mean it was basically the toughest defense in the nfl last night, except the Incredible Seahawks obviously. But, we still couln’t get a first down for three quarters.

  5. DallasBuc Says:

Sounds like more excuses for an unprepared team. Injury report on Cam had zero to do with that sht show some call the Bucs offense on Sunday.

  6. BucFan20 Says:

So what. If Cam goes down on the first play you still have to play against the backup. Just as they would if McClown went down. The job is still to get the job done no matter who is back there.

  7. Harry Says:

I do not see how this matters. If Anderson had a larger skill set than Newton, or even a special skill, I get it. But thats not the case. Anderson is not mobile. This may be over simplifying it, but IMO, all you have to do is get after his a$$ and sack him – especially since the Panthers Oline allegedly questionable. But, did we get after Anderson? Hell no! Nothing from Clayborn; nothing from Michael Johnson even though most of the day they had 1-on-1s. Pathetic!

  8. Buc1987 Says:

I see some of you are missing the point of the article. The point is to point out that Cam should have been listed as “Out” is all. I agree Cam would have destroyed our D on Sunday, considering our O kept putting our D back out there the whole game. They must have been exhausted.

Dallas..lol of course it has no bearing on the offensive side of the ball.

    I have a question though.

How long will it be before we can walk into RJS and look at an opposing teams fan, walk up and trash talk about their team and not have those fans laugh at us anymore and take us serious?

It’s humiliating and some of you LOVE it!

  9. OB Says:

    Joe

This is not the reason we played so poorly, if Cam would have played he would have scored a lot more points with the way we were playing.

This is what we do next time http://www.imagesup.net/?di=1614103016926

  11. Andrew 1 Says:

Hey Buc1987, glad to have you back man! This place hasn’t been the same without you. It’s filled with people who supposedly call themselves bucs “fans”.

  12. JT Says:

    Buc1987

All those opposing teams fans can eat spit! They should not feel safe coming into OUR f#%&ing stadium all smug and arrogant!

  13. Hawaiian Buc Says:

There is definitely a different game plan between the two. With Cam, your ends really have to keep contain, which can slow down your pass rush. You may even have to have a LB spy him. However, it should get a hell of a lot easier once you take that threat of a run away. It’s one thing going from a pocket passer to a mobile QB, but it should be much easier to adjust the other way around. Plus, they had to know that even if Cam played, he wasn’t going to run much. It all boils down to we lost, and if the situation were flipped and the Bucs duped another team, I would be thrilled.

  14. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ Soggybottom

    Ahahahahahaha that’s Hilarious!

  15. Warren Says:

    So what?

  16. Soggybottom Says:

@Andrew 1, thanks I think we need a laugh after that so called game, And I don’t know what it is about newton but I cant stand his face, it sickens me.. Please no more photos of him..

  17. BrooklynBucsfan Says:

If a radio host “knew” this, I’m sure our coaches would have as well. It’s a silly argument. We lost because we got out played.

  18. Ray Rice Says:

Hey Joe!!! Hey! Hey! Hey! Don’t worry about my video. That has nothing to do with what happened Sunday. Don’t try and find a Panther scapegoat for Sundays embarrassing loss. In fact, the Bucs should thank the Panthers for not playing Fig Newton. It would have been much much worse. I can count the times Anderson could have broke contain because grinning Casillas was out of position. Cam would have had a field day running. #she made me do it

  19. Buc1987 Says:

lol Andrew 1 I’ve been reading the comments all summer long….I know what your talking about.

  20. Andrew 1 Says:

Yea we all do need a good laugh, everybody is wound up so tight around here. Man, this was some years back I cant believe I missed it the first time. Dont know if you know this, but it turns out the guy in the blue shirt being carried away by the golf cart is Danny Amendola’s father. Like how he jumps of the cart at the end LOL.

  21. Buc1987 Says:

lol Soggybottom I saw that earlier on another site I was cracking up. I’m slowly coming out of my funk from Sunday. Trying to brush aside all this negative energy I have towards my team right now. So I needed to see that again too. Thanks Soggybottom.

  22. Soggybottom Says:

@Buc1987 and Andrew 1, I did post it earlier today but it was late in the post and did not think many people saw it, I wonder how many people got fired over that..

  23. Orca Says:

On a separate note, Cam is a douchenozzle.

  24. DallasBuc Says:

Buc1987- “How long will it be before we can walk into RJS and look at an opposing teams fan, walk up and trash talk about their team and not have those fans laugh at us anymore and take us serious?” It won’t be until this franchise starts playing consistently good football but it doesn’t stop me from talking sht while I’m there. I get way too fired up on gameday.

  25. Patrick in VA Says:

Non-story if we’d won. Sound like a bunch of whiners

  26. Chef Paul Says:

I heard Ron Rivera on Sirius radio yesterday, and I really think they thought he would play until about Thursday. We all knew he re-aggravated that rib during the week. It’s not the Panthers fault Lovie and co. didn’t take it serious. Lovie even pretty much said they weren’t even thinking about Anderson during the week.

THis is what losers talk about after losing. move on

  29. BucTrooper Says:

    Excuses excuses.

The Bucs got beat by a guy who threw 4 passes in 3 years. Man up to it and own your defeat. You stunk. You disgraced Tampa Bay (again).
