“Nothing Is Imminent”

August 26th, 2014

It seems the sitdown between sleazy Richie Incognito and Bucs coach Lovie Smith went down yesterday, and while both sides are putting on a happy face, nothing is about to go down.

Those are the words coming from former Dolphins beat writer and current NFL.com insider and Seminole High grad Jeff Darlington. The NFL Network star used his contacts, both old and new, to get the latest on Incognito and the Bucs.

In short, Bucs fans, if you really, really, really want this guy, chill. It may not happen right away, Darlington twitters.

Darlington also Twittered that the Bucs are not the only team sniffing Incognito’s tail. Apparently, three other teams are interested but all three were spooked about talking to Incognito because, until yesterday, Incognito had not been cleared to play by NFL warden commissioner Roger Goodell.

While Darlington notes the Bucs are the first to interview Incognito, it is not a lock he signs with the Bucs.

Other teams were waiting for someone to break the ice…..take the heat….that was us….but if it comes down to things being even for Richie….he will probably choose the Bucs because we were the first to give him a shot.

  2. Harry Says:

That would be a shame if we don’t sign him. Our choices are very limited to improve our Oline: 1) sign Richie on a one year deal, with a team option for a 2nd year at minimal money, say $2M/yr, 2) status quo and go 6-10 (then sign 10 QBs bc they are all going to get killed), or 3) trade – not likely, and not desirable to be giving up draft choices. So, lets see… which of those look like the best option?

I think Licht is laying the ground work for a trade for Boone. Trade for Boone and sign Incognito so the sting by the media will be less and we will be an automatic playoff contender..

i knew as soon as we brought him in the flood gates would open. he will have other offers. sign him NOW before the bidding war!

the way he was blackballed was BS. Martin is the one who should have been blackballed for scheming/saving all the info to feed to mom and the media rather than being a man. as a kid thats a tattle tale. as a man thats a bit*h move.

Joe is the guy that says yes to Johnny football while he is rolling up 20’s in a bathroom and flipping the bird to a team on an NFL field.

    Give me a break. sleazy

  6. Eric Says:

    Let somebody else have him.

The man is 30years old. A leopard rarely changes his spots.

  7. Zam Says:

If you care about character, you wouldn’t even talk to him. Lovie/Licht disappointed me greatly.

And since when does everyone have a right to a second chance all of a sudden?

  8. Joe T. Says:

This isn’t the first douchebag to grace/possibly grace a Bucs roster. Anybody remember Aqib Talib and Jerramy Stevens. Both of those guys are more sleazy than Incognito.

Ahhhhahahaha just saw the picture of joes butt buddy in the bathroom with a 20. Woooohooo we all know what that means!!! But I mean c’mon man college teaches you to always use a 100! smh #classy

    Zam,

I’d figure that once the NFL franchises started giving the second chances to the dog killers, wife beaters, drug addicts, rapists and actual HUMAN killers, a “big stupid meanie-head” should probably get a pass too.

  11. PanhandleBucGuy28 Says:

@Zam since when do they not? Ray Lewis? Ray Rice? Greg Hardy? Vick? Aldon Smith made a BOMB THREAT at a airport for god sakes and your saying a guy that so called “BULLIED” another player that is soft as wet toilet paper dont desreve a second chance?

  12. BucRock Says:

    @AF_Buc – Well said…..
