Well, there goes the much hyped Tommy Streeter. Also interesting to see them bail on Jace Daniels, I guess Reshaw made him expendable. Still would like to see those two guys put on the practice squad if at all possible. Any idea how many cuts are left before they it 53?

  2. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Only name I don’t like being cut is WR Eric Page.

  3. GlenninGrad Says:

Seems quite a few OL men have been cut already. Licht is already scavenging the garbage already.

  4. Buc Fan #237 Says:

I like it when I don’t really know any of the guys getting cut.

  5. OB Says:

    Joe

Which do you think are for the practice Squad if they clear waviers?

  6. Capt.Tim,back from Davie Jones's Locker Says:

Hated seeing Streeter cut. He flashed talent quite a few times.
R J Mattes just got signed last Wednesday! That was a damn quick glance!
“Here’s your playbook- we’ll be needing that back tomorrow”

Good luck to all these young men. Hope they find work elsewhere. Bad day to have your dreams dimmed- but everything that happens is for a reason. Another opportunity will present itself

  7. Mattress Mike Says:

Is Lovie pinching Jason in that picture? Some quality guards are coming!

That’s like asking which Bucs cheerleader he could grab after they all have traveled through 31 bars seeking companionship on a Saturday night.

Joe’s not a practice squad kinda guy, through he knows there is a small cult out there who is. Pretty good bet that if someone doesn’t make the 53, their chances of an impact with the team is rather meager.

  9. Arealbucsfan Says:

I really liked Streeter…. Oh well

  10. BucBob1 Says:

I hope Streeter don’t get picked up by Carolina!

  11. Orca Says:

I thought Daniels was one of the young lineman they liked. I also thought Streeter wouldn’t be gone in this round. Page doesn’t surprise me all that much since they seem to like Patton better for the return jobs.

  12. Unislookgoodunislookugly Says:

@ob .. Or better yet Joes has zero insight to the internal workings of the Bucs. Having a website is great for putting info on the team but Joe is the last to know what’s really happening. It’s a good read but other sites and reporters are better connected. Lovie practically cringes after every question Joe asks so I don’t see any scoop coming this sites way.

  13. unbelievable Says:

@Unislookgoodunislookugly then why are you on this site?

  14. Bucs Fan #237 Says:

These guys couldn’t even make the final 75. So that says something.

Must have been missing during practice.

Next pre-season game, a lot of the 45-75 ranked guys will get some serious PT.

  15. aj Says:

You don’t get rid of guys you want on the practice squad on the first cut, so I’d say none of the current cuts are practice squad hopefuls.

Bucs Bob 1……………I just made that prediction at the site I post on regularly to a Carolina buddy of mine. They will take a look at him. They are as desperate at WR right now as we ar OG imo

  17. Owlykat Says:

Pretty sick when Daniels gets cut who can play both center and guard and is bright and strong, and we keep Worflop’s pet, who got PFF’s worst rating on our OL, worthless Cousins, all three games in a row. Now we don’t have a capable backup center!!! Maybe Licht can pickup a good lineman from another team, I hope! Oh well, we still kept worthless Glennon too.

  18. geno714 Says:

What happened with Cummings? There was a lot of hype on him right here on this site coming out of college.

  19. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Under the new PS rules Daniels still has eligibility and I seriously doubt anyone grabs him off waivers. I’d bet he ends up on our 10-man PS. If the Bucs didn’t trade for Rishaw Johnson it’s fairly certain Daniels wouldn’t have been cut.

  20. Espo Says:

I thought Cummings was making some noise?

  21. Harry Says:

I doubt any of these guys will be on the PS. Don’t you think that the players who are deemed worthy of the PS would be in the next cut to get down to 53?

  22. Hawk Says:

It’s entirely possible that coaches will try to ‘sneak’ a player by cutting him early, knowing that most teams are not interested in the players from the first cut. If they aren’t going to make the 53, why wait?
