@Joe….I know the endless stream of celebrities dumping ice water on themselves gets a little old after a while, but as someone who lost his father to ALS, it makes me smile every time I see one because I know that people are bringing awareness about this awful disease to the public. ALS is a neurological condition that has no cure. It is 100% fatal and the average patient suffering from it has (on average) less than a 2 year life span. It is a terrible, crippling disease that affects young and old alike.

In just the last quarter, since the #IceBiucketChallenge started, the ALS Association has raised over $40 million in donations….last year they raised just $2million during the same quarter. So you can think dumping ice water on yourself is “stupid”, but don’t forget why it’s being done! I hope that one day this disease will have a cure so that no one else will lose their father to it! Remember, you don’t have to do the Ice Bucket Challenge to help…you can go to and donate directly.

How about Julie Chen taking the ice water dumping last night ending big brother. Chen, who is married to the CBS president wimped out. She stood in a child’s yard pool and somebody dumped a gallon or so of water in a 5 gallon pail over her head, no ice.

Joe I too agree with Jeagan. I’m sure if your family had been touched by ALS you would feel differently about the ice bucket challenge.
