Jeff Demps tells TBO.com’s Olivia Stacey about his newfound desire.

One reason Joe wasn’t doing cartwheels when Tampa Bay got running back Jeff Demps as a throwaway item in the LeGarrette Blount trade was because Demps was an Olympic star with his focus on winning a gold medal.

Joe has no problem with that in itself. It’s a noble goal that few humans have ever accomplished. More power to him. But Joe was worried about the Bucs and had no use for a guy who treated the team as an offseason hobby.

Well, that has changed. Not only has Demps reshifted his focus to football, which is good for the Bucs, but he now has a fire lit under him, he tells Olivia Stacey in this TBO.com video.

Didn’t we get him for Blount?

Good memory. Thought it was Talib. So much for this story. 🙁

  3. Snook Says:

We got Demps and the pick we used to trade up and get Mike James.

  4. OAR Says:

That’s a Jeffery for a Blount, which is not to be mistaken for a Jeffery Blunt…..Keep calm and stroke the furry wall!

GLAD THAT DEMPS IS FOCUSED ON FOOTBALL..BY THE WAY , NOTHING HAS CHANGED , THE BUCS TRADED FOR HIM BECAUSE OF HIS RE-FOCUS ON FOOTBALL. ONCE THE OLYMPICS WERE OVER , THAT WAS HIS DESIRE ALL ALONG. NEVER LET THE FACTS GET IN THE WAY OF A SHORT-SIGHTED STORY,LOL

Lets just hope he has a gold medal and Super Bowl ring. Honetly I only liked the pickup for Demps due to him being from Gatorville. Was almost a throw in. The new Regime believes they can cash in with him. Sounds good if it works.

  7. Jim Walker Says:

Yeah, Demps will never be caught from behind. Only one guy can do that, and he won the gold metal and isn’t in football. =)

  8. OB Says:

    Joe

I hope he is focused on catching and holding on to the ball as well as running very fast, because without the ball his speed is useless.

  9. greg Says:

We traded blount for demps and a 7th round pick.

  10. Louis Friend Says:

You can’t show great speed if you can’t keep the ball in your hands. I just don’t see him lasting if he can’t hold on to the ball. Past training camp. Lovie has zero tolerance for lack of ball security. Combining that with his likely few touches makes him very expendable.

    Lol @OAR

Demps had no problem holding on to the ball for the gators and he will shine in Tampa Joe said he has no problem with demps wanting to win a metal like joe matters what a drama queen joe is I don’t think joe is nothing other than a no talent bum his negativity is all hes about and I am sick of it

My suggestion to chickster is stay away from this website if it makes him sick.

  14. pick6 Says:

passion won’t help you hold onto a football, and it won’t keep you in 16 games if you’re made of glass. demps has alot more to prove beyond the fact that he cares about football.

passion won’t help you hold onto a football, and it won’t keep you in 16 games if you’re made of glass.

Good point. Joe has a passion for Rachel Watson. You know how far that has gotten. 🙁

Demps did shine for the Gators, but so did Tebow! How is that working out? A good to great collge career doesn’t always translate to the next level.
