The Long Walk To Start Camp

July 24th, 2014

It was right about dawn and Joe wasn’t sure if Gerald McCoy had just gotten out of bed or was being gangsta when he showed up at One Buc Palace in a stylish red robe. Somewhere, Joe Namath was jealous.

Bucs players made the long, tortured walk from their cars and white team-sponsored passenger vans to One Buc Palace, knowing what the end of the walk means.

Football is hours away. The rancid 2013 season is starting to become a black hole in Joe’s memory bank. Lovie Smith brings credibility and a sense of excitement to the new season.

As we are hours away from training camp, Olivia Stacey of TBO.com speaks with GMC about yet another training camp for him with a new coach, and hopefully, a dawn of a new Bucs era.

    McCoy is a BOSS!

  2. Buccfan37 Says:

The Buc players will get some rain showers to cool them off in Tampa. Over west of there on the coast it’s been very dry and extremely hot and dry lately. Bring on the rain.

    Joe,
It is hard to listen to the video and advertisements at the same time? It’s even hard to find the annoying pop-up audio advertisements

Must be national ads. Joe does not have any local video/audio ads.

Do these ads not have an “X” where you can stop them or a stop button?

HAHAHA. Good one, Joes. Of course they don’t.

    Joe,

I love the site, but there are numerous ads that play audio, and either they are hard to locate (to turn off the audio) or they don’t have a stop/disable button.

I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t read the site while I have my speakers on.

  7. D-Rome Says:

There’s plenty to be excited about this season but I’m predicting 7 – 9.

I don’t know what kind of Afghan, windows 98 computer set-up you guys are running, but I never have any pop-ups or automatic audio files play! On my work PC or my home mac book!

  9. Rich Says:

It’s really nice when the ads when these stupid audio ads are playing all over the videos and radio streams. These ads are a little out of hand. I stopped checking this site via my phone ages ago because it always stalls due to it all.

Doesn’t happen to everyone. Joe expects things to get better on the audio front soon. Regarding ads, they are not stalling your phone. Thanks. –Joe

Joe has zero control over the national ads.

  11. Buccfan37 Says:

Wow, I must be blessed, never any problems whatsoever on this cell phone.

  12. BigMacAttack Says:

Ditto on the annoying video ads playing simultaneously and sucking the life out of the site. I understand that someone hosts the site but is this your site or theirs to screw up?

    JoeAnnoyingAds.com

Sorry to lay this crap on you guys. I know you’re busy but at least check it for yourself and pitch the bitch to the host or somebody. I have no clue as to why, but it does suck

  13. BigMacAttack Says:

It happens mostly on my PC

  14. Netwalker Says:

Yeah, I just wasted two minutes trying to find that stupid audio ad. There’s a lot of good stuff elsewhere. I’ll check back in a few days to see if this flaw still exists. Too bad. I like it here.

  15. D-Rome Says:

Just so you know Joe (since you deleted my comment) ad blockers do not block the local ads. They only block the national ads by sites like trafficjunky and such. I have an ad blocker on my browser and I see all the local ads.

  16. Mitch Says:

I am basically a mobile exclusive user of this site. I have zero issues with audio ads. I get re-directed to some stupid game once or twice a day but nothing egregious.. The FREE information and coverage the Joes provide on our favorite sports team is invaluable, and most definitely worth a couple of ads. No complaint here.

  17. IamTheOne Says:

I would pay for a subscription to opt out of that.
The one that spoke about the actress going topless for this or that just as an executive walked by was super awesome.
Maybe now I wont have to worry about them at work anymore.

  18. Nick H Says:

When speaking highly of McCoy please make sure you include “on the football field”

The robe is … uh, Dungy wouldn’t like it if you know what I mean and he’s a cheesy, soft ball of PBS kids shows.

But a good football player ascending to great.

  19. OAR Says:

    A red robe is gangsta??
I’m supposed to wear a shell but I don’t…Slug Life!

Still love the site, but that one caught me off guard.

BTW we are sumluckysammicheaters to have G Mac on our favorite team.

  22. Piratic Says:

Not a complaint department here. –Joe
