Announcing Derrick Brooks Bobblehead Day

June 3rd, 2014

BrooksLovieDerrick Brooks’ induction into the Buccaneers Ring of Honor should have been enough to get you excited to attend Game 2 of the Buccaneers’ 2014 season. But now there’s a new incentive, a Brooks bobblehead doll for every fan in the house.

WDAE-AM 620 broke the news with reaction from Brooks this evening.

Brooks had a lot to say about the meaning of all this, including how he doesn’t want to see the dolls up for auction on websites that do such thing.

Joe thinks this is pretty darn cool. The last time the Bucs did a bobblehead was for Mike Alstott in 2008.

Mike Alstott Night wasn’t that well attended. Tickets were on sale up until kickoff, which conflicted with the Rays’ World Series run.

The Bucs won that game 20-10 to push their record to 5-2. Jeff Garcia was 27-for-36 for 310 yards. Joe hopes the Bucs can duplicate that kind of performance for Mr. Derrick Brooks.

Listen to Brooks’ full chatter about this historic event below.

I heard that interview on the radio. DB is the best! He is genuinely excited! I will have to check out available seats. That will be a great game to attend.

That will be the day I FINALLY get my cousin to get my Brooks jersey signed. If Sapp comes I’m giving him that jersey too. He said Sapp has lightened up as far as autographs go. So maybe FINALLY!

Then that’s 2 less jerseys for me to wear, but oh well. I’ll buy 2 more just to wear. Those bitches are getting framed and never sold until I’m dead.

An actual 300 yard passing day?

  4. William Says:

Good point Eric. You beat me to it. We know McCown will be the QB for that to happen. lol

Actually, I’m pretty confident we will be scoring on 2nd halves this year.

I was at that game in 2008 and got my Alstott bobblehead. I guess I never realized that was the only time they did that.

The Legendary Rosey Grier is on NFL Network. Grab your sponges, and soak some of that up men.

I just watched some film on LB Shaq Thompson out of washington. Dude is a BEAST. Blocked a field goal and took it for a touchdown vs oregon. Put him next to David and we should see great things. Or we should draft that safety Kyshoen Jarett. Next year we need to have big picks on defense.

Yeah, he solid. I was doing the same over the weekend-the kid our Virginia Tech Kyshoen Jarrett (S/SC) would be great in a BUCS jersey-Kids a Beast!
