Exciting Day For Bucs Fans

May 16th, 2014

joe_mug_shotBuccaneers rookies take the practice field today for the opening of Tampa Bay’s three-day rookie minicamp.

And you thought this was some sleepy Friday in May, when Bucs fans typically would drink adult beverages and count down the 70 or so days until training camp kicks off!

Nope, Joe will be buzzing around practice and One Buc Palace delivering you all kinds of news, notes, nuggets and words from your newest Bucs.

Stick with Joe through the day, and the weekend.

    AWESOME!!!!!!

Why is ASJ wearing 87 ? And #13 is a funny # for a big wide receiver . Evans should wear something in the 80s. . Larry Fitzgerald is the only big guy that can wear a # in the teens and pull it off…

Teen #s are only for smaller faster shiftier guys .. just my 2 cents

    Whats wrong with 87?

I think that Brandon Marshall would disagree.

Who cares what number they’re wearing. Catch the ball!

Couldn’t have asked for better weather for the next 3 days. I’m looking forward to hearing from our eyes on the ground. For the fun of it JOE, why don’t you see if Glennon will throw you a fastball? It would give you a perfect indication of how strong Mike’s cannon arm is. I lay odds, you drop it or it knocks you over. LMAO!

Great wisdom… not really. Keyshawn was a very big WR (especially for that time) and he was one of the first WRs to be allowed to wear a number in the teens (19). Charlie Joyner had been wearing #17 for years but he wasn’t a big guy. Marques Colston also has a number in the teens (12) and he’s 6’4. Julio Jones is 6’2 and 220 lbs and wears #11…

We all know you don’t really know what you’re talking about., but I just want to hear you say it… it makes it so much more satisfying.

  11. Architek Says:

Joe can you get us feedback and interaction with Charles Smith and Herron?

  12. Tackleblockwin Says:

Joe, your thoughts on the young Oline players at camp would be awesome. Who makes a good first impression? Who impresses you? Oline Oline Oline? Maybe a interview with Oline coach?

  13. Tackleblockwin Says:

Info on Punters too. I think we have 2 in camp? Any shot either of them replace Mr. Overpriced?

  14. Architek Says:

    Tackleblock –
    You are correct!

Iowa State’s Kirby Van Der Kamp is a monster…

    I hope he sticks.

  15. Architek Says:

    I meant Charles Sims.

  16. Tackleblockwin Says:

    @ architek

From the little I know of these two Punters, looks like the other P, Pete Kontodiakos, Colorado State, has better leg strength, but Kirby is the better directional punter and solid at pinning teams inside the 20 with superb touch. Does that sound correct?

  17. Hawk Says:

Hey, Joe. Give up an update on how Johnny looks. Oh, wait, never mind. ;^)
(I couldn’t resist. Maybe this will help with the 3mil)

Glad to hear about a potential mobile app. Will it give me the ability to have you talk about actual Bucs news with Duemig instead of talking incessantly about Glennon?

It will give you the ability to read Joe’s content just like you would on the site.

Sorry. I just got done listening to the podcast of your hour+ on WDAE on Tuesday. I was very frustrated that it wasn’t until after returning from break at 5:47pm that you moved off of Glennon and started to touch on the draft picks. 2013 is long in the books and the Bucs signed the best available free agent QB, even if it’s only Josh McCown. So we have what we have. I’d prefer to focus on the optimism of the offseason and the realism of being 0-0 rather than the pessimism of the 32nd ranked offense.
