Assault!May 21st, 2009
And what was Cox’s offense? He was trying to break up a fight.
Swinging his helmet at Donald Penn, Talib instead struck Cox in the face with the helmet. If Talib, a habitual pothead who clearly has anger-management issues, had done this on the sidewalk he would be charged with assault and be put behind bars — or worse: Forced to be an intimate of someone named “Bubba” in the showers.
There is no room for this on a football field — none! This isn’t the first time Talib has pulled a stunt on the practice field. As far as Joe is concerned Talib should receive no less than a month’s suspension during the regular season.
Cox is fortunate that his face is somewhat intact.
This should be Talib’s last strike with the Bucs. One more incident, and he can go play for the Raiders or the Cowboys. There’s no need to have this type of gangbanger mentality on the Bucs’ roster.
