So Many Carolina Doubters?

January 12th, 2014

Joe rarely weighs in on non-Bucs things, but this is an exception.

Joe can’t believe the Bucs’ hated rival, the stinkin’, Clifton-Smith-abusing Panthers, aren’t getting much love to beat the 49ers this afternoon in Charlotte.

Why are so many media types and fans seduced by the familiarity of the 49ers roster? It’s as if legions of people are shrugging off the Panthers winning 11 of their last 12, including in San Francisco, and having home-field advantage with the NFL’s No. 2 defense.

The Panthers’ November shutdown of the 49ers was followed up by a home clubbing of the mighty Patriots on Monday Night Football. Carolina couldn’t keep LeGarrette Blount from five yards a carry, but Cam Newton led them that night.

Every time Joe’s tuned in national and local sports radio in the past few days, he’s heard pundits just assuming the 49ers will “take care of business.”

Vegas has even shunned the Panthers and their 7-1 home record.

The Panthers are no fluke, and Joe would be surprised if the Panthers’ rested and nasty defense doesn’t dominate the game and bring the Panthers a win before what will be a psychotic home crowd.

Joe really loved free-agent-to-be defensive end Greg Hardy reaction to Carolina’s underdog status.

“If you don’t stop me, I’m going to break your quarterback’s face,” Hardy said. “If he doesn’t throw it to your receivers, he’s not going to win. It depends upon who’s in the position and who wants to make the plays. It doesn’t matter what team is hot, what team is up or down, what team’s feeling sorry for themselves, what team’s the favorite. … I ain’t been a favorite in 24 years. I’m doing great.

“That’s just people talking. Naysayers, people jabbing, even old analysts and old players talking about a game that they’re too slow to play. Congrats to them. That’s what they get paid for.”

Joe’s confident the Panthers will win today and show Bucs fans what’s needed to lead the NFC South — a punishing defense and an outstanding playmaker at quarterback.

  1. flmike...hates Johnny Football Says:

I’m taking the Panthers to go to the SB, they’ll probably lose to either the Broncos or Pats, but they’ll be there.

  2. Leon Says:

Ha ha Hardy would certainly look better in pewter abusing QBs. Personally expect Carolina to punish Cap and it to look similar to there first meeting.

  3. DallasBuc Says:

Count me in as a doubter. Game of the weekend!

  4. Couch Fan Says:

I think Panthers will beat the 9ers to but will lose to Seattle next week. The Hawks look dam near dominant last night. I dont see any team beating them.

  5. blackmagic00 Says:

I think the panthers will lose at the 12th Man next week.

  6. Chris Says:

Cam may struggle in playoff game number 1.

  7. BucsfaninChina Says:

All depends on which colin kap shows up today. Cam Newton needs to get flattened. Really cant stand the guy.

  8. chef paul Says:

I for some reason always hate the media darlings. And the 9ers are the medias flavor of the month. So even they’re the Stikin Panthers,I’m rooting for them

  9. SeanyMac in SC Says:

Riddle me this…how did Ron Rivera take this team that had the same record as the Bucs last year, huge salary cap issues, Mike Shula, and they have a number 2 seed in the NFC? Rivera was going to be fired last year, and now he’s “River Boat Ron” “Coach of the Year” candidate. IMHO, its strong QB play, run the ball well, and a nasty D. The Bucs desperately need a stud QB

  10. JonBuc Says:

    Seany Mac:

I thik you nailed it….strong QB play ( pains me to admit that @ Cam ) and better drafting than the Bucs of late IMO.

  11. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

What kind of freakin’ Bucs fan would want the Panthers to go to the Superbowl???

I ain’t shy. I thoroughly enjoyed it when Drew Brees looked like Josh Freeman yesterday. I cheered when the “Ain’ts” lost.

And I hope the Panthers lose as well.

You realize how annoying Panthers fans would be if they won the Superbowl??? Do you people really want to put up with that? Do you think their fans would root for us?

Not a single Bucs fan should be hoping that team wins today. If so, you ain’t a Bucs fan. You are a football fan. Fair weather. Supporting a division rival. (rolls eyes)

Besides. The Broncos will win the Superbowl. There is no doubt about it. And they’ll do it with the best offense in the nfl.

  12. Danimal Says:

Joe the answer is… The kittys have no chance.

  13. Couch Fan Says:

Who said anything about wanting the Panthers to go to the super bowl? I must of missed that.

  14. (Buc) Mike Says:

who gives a s**t about the pink panthers!!! Go 9ers,

    Fire the cannons! Bucs4life

  15. Snook Says:

    #3 QB in the division

  16. Couch Fan Says:

On a side note, just read we hired Gill Byrd, jairus Byrd’s father, as DBs coach.

Joe wrote about that days ago. Anyone who wants to catch up can check the archives.–Joe

  17. ryan Says:

The Panthers are averaging 12.8 points per game vs teams with a winning record this year. Only once did they score more than 20 points in those games(24 vs NE).

For all the hype of Cam Newton has, its not like he’s setting the league on fire.

Carolina had a great season but it ends today.

  18. MadMax Says:

One of the rare times I’ll pull for the stinking kitties, bleh! They are the home team since Im from SC……

  19. Bucfan#37 Says:

I agree the 9ers have been hyped to be all but a given to get by Carolina. I am not so sure. Can’t pick the winner, it’s too tough, will be pulling for SF. If Carolina gets this win, watch out Seattle and AFC champ.

  20. eric Says:

I’m with Joe. Carolina totally mauled us. Even worse than San Fran.

  21. Buc1987 Says:

    I’m picking Carolina.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

Seahags vs Broncos in the SB. Broncos win.

  23. BucFanForever Says:

I fully expect the Panthers to dominate the 49ers today. But I am rooting for the 49ers anyway. It is probably just the Buc fan in me, always pulling for the team that is probably going to lose.

  24. Mumbles Says:

49ers win! Crabtree, Aldon Smith make the difference. SF didn’t have last time. Plus SF has the playoff experience.

  25. MadMax Says:

Dont know how, but the feeling just came over me….49er’s will win. Oh well, I’ll still pull for the kitties 😉

  26. RustyRhinos Says:

    @BuccaneerBonzai
“What kind of freakin’ Bucs fan would want the Panthers to go to the Superbowl???”

LOL Exactly! typed the words right out of my mouth.

  27. MadMax Says:

What kind? NFC south pride! Color me different ……

  28. Couch Fan Says:

Lol The look on Newtons face when he got his first playoff INT was priceless.

  29. PRBucFan Says:

    Im with you Couch

Although it seems the Panties aren’t getting love from the refs lol

  30. Buc1987 Says:

lol Max…like when the Bucs had to go up to Philly for the NFC champ game. All week long I thought the Bucs were going to lose that game. Then on Friday I woke up I looked at my wife and the first words out of my mouth were not good morning. I said the Bucs are going to win this weekend and they are going to the SB. I don’t know why. It wasn’t homerism either. Something just hit me on that morning. I was dead sure of it. I was still nervous as hell though when the game started.

  31. RastaMon Says:

Passport says place of birth…Palo Alto 1948…liking 49ers…..
Coming of age..summer of love in SD…..says “Bolts”
My Bucs are nowhere to be found…so this is how I’m riding today

  32. PRBucFan Says:

Many football fans including actual Buccaneer players if you look on twitter are rooting for the NFC South hahaha.

Not that rare BB 😉 lol

  33. BucfaninMi Says:

Hate Panthers!! Go anyone else! Seahawks deserve it, after getting screwed in their first attempt. Besides they’re the Bucs expansion brothers!

  34. PRBucFan Says:

I think the Panties win but lose to Seattle

    I can’t stand Cam lol

  35. PRBucFan Says:

I can’t stand Kap either though

  36. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Gonna be a great second half

  37. PRBucFan Says:

The ravens were absolute idiots for getting rid of Flacco’s best receiver

  38. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

Yeah, not wise. We should go after Jacoby Jones.

  39. PRBucFan Says:

    He’s an amazing returner

    Him or Hester 🙂

  40. Couch Fan Says:

All Boldin does is make plays wherever he goes. A long time ago I said he wasnt worth trading for. I was wrong.

  41. PRBucFan Says:

And he just has gotten better and better, pretty crazy.

  42. Snook Says:

Good call Joe. Too bad you picked the wrong D and playmaker.

Joe has no problem offering an opinion or being wrong. –Joe

  43. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Smh . All the players we could’ve drafted over the years

  44. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Never forget arguing with Buc fans on TBO, about how we to draft LB Bowman. Guys were like we don’t need anymore guys with character issues. I was wtf dude this football, not croshay. lol

  45. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    *ABOUT HOW WE NEEDED TO

  46. mpmalloy Says:

    Panthers mad.

    They so mad.

Steve Smith mad, Cam mad, Ron Rivera mad.
    The fans they mad too.

  47. ryan Says:

As I pretty said earlier, you can expect to win in today’s nfl by scoring in the teens.

  48. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @mpmalloy

    LOL LUV IT

JUST SHOWS YOU GOTTA HAVE A MEAN OFFENSIVE LINE & DEFENSIVE LINE 2 WIN!!!

  49. LUVMYBUCS Says:

EVEN THOUGH CAROLINA HAS A GREAT DEFENSIVE LINE, CAM IS GETTING SMASHED

  50. DMAD1 Says:

WELL JOE! Looks like Carolina better make a strong push.
Is getting late in the game and time is not a friend. It’s all about experience and that’s what the 49ers have. It’s really funny with all the high-powered quarterback talk in the NFL but look who’s still standing all the defense of running teams

  51. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @DMAD1

COMES DOWN 2 CONTROLLING THE “LINE(S)” OF SCRIMMAGE

  52. DMAD1 Says:

@luvmybucs, your dead on and it will always be this way

  53. LUVMYBUCS Says:

  54. LUVMYBUCS Says:

  56. Snook Says:

Hey Joe…. you’re playmaker QB looks great today.

Cam is all smoke and mirrors. Hate to break it to you.

  57. Snook Says:

Mike Shula offense in the playoffs. 10 points.

    Is anyone surprised????

  58. Snook Says:

    Hey Joe….

    Panthers are a fluke.

  59. PRBucFan Says:

Seattle is going to lay the would on ole Kappy Kap lol.

  60. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

Gotta give it up 2 the Niner, 3yrs in a row NFL CHAMPIONSHIP.. THEY HAVE THE BLUE PRINT

  61. Andres Says:

    @snook THERE IT IS!

  62. PRBucFan Says:

    NFC*

But Seattle has their number in Seattle.

Can’t stand Kap, but I like the Canes that make up their roster 😀

  63. LUVMYBUCS Says:

THE QB’S MAY CHANGE-BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS REMAIN THE SAME- DOMINATED BOTH LINE(S) OF SCRIMMAGE BABY!!!

    C’MON BUCS! LETS GO!!

  64. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    U IN YOUR CANES..SMH 🙂

  65. buchead407 Says:

And that’s why you need some offense to win. Not just a great d

  66. lurker Says:

need a qb…the defense didn’t save the day here. 2nd ranked defense did what?

  67. buchead407 Says:

49ers have the perfect blend of offense and defense

  68. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    U DONT SEE A CORNER BACK GETTING PAID A FREAKING MILLION BUC’S A GAME -I TELL U THAT MUCH…LOL

  69. PRBucFan Says:

No, Cam just wasn’t good enough.

    Lurk is correct

  70. lurker Says:

yah, but the studly d-line of Carolina did what? everyone said the panther had a great d-line, number 2 defense, and the are sitting and watching now.

  71. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

NEED A REVAMPED NASTY-GRITTY OLINE/W BLOCKING (TE)- AND BETTER DLINE ROTATION

  72. PRBucFan Says:

LUV, excited with those caps? lol smh 😉

  73. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Yep..lol

  74. DMAD1 Says:

I hate to say it but the 49ers going to go back to the Super Bowl this year and get it done. There too darn good on all three phases of the game including the coach!

  75. lurker Says:

need a scrambling qb! one who can make plays!

  76. lurker Says:

the game has changed. i loved the black and blue defense of the bucs back when, but it is not enough!

  77. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

Because Cam’s Oline was terrible point blank. Cam has 49er’s online he wins hands down

  78. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

Tell that 2 Brady & Manning

  79. lurker Says:

aint buyin what ur sellin…why get keep then? why not keep alex smith?

u know better than their coach…lol

  80. lurker Says:

    *why get keep, then?

  81. LUVMYBUCS Says:

5 sacks( Really 6) ..tones of pressure…which creates turnovers.

  82. Bucfan#37 Says:

Sounds like Seattle is a given to win NFC Championship. Not so fast. This will be a close game.

  83. lurker Says:

why does it change kaepernick to keep here?

  84. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

All you have to do is look at who wins Super Bowls. FACT

  85. PRBucFan Says:

Seattle’s going to take the Lombardi home this year

  86. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Manning(s), Flacco, Brady, Rogers, Brees, Big Ben etc etc etc

  87. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

Thats why they play on Sundays..

  88. lurker Says:

another person who thinks just because he says “fact” makes it a fact. lmao

  89. PRBucFan Says:

Yup and the Seahawks are going to play their way to a Superbowl victory lol.

Nothing would make me happier than to watch kappy cocky self leave Seattle crying.

He’s going to get popped repeatedly, at least I hope he is lol

I’ve seen all this with my crystal ball, count on it 😉

  90. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

Nah bruh, until things change history will always be on my side. Has there EVER been a QB that’s rushed for 400 yards any WON A CHAMPIONSHIP in the same year??? Nope

  91. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

    Lol

  92. knucknbuc Says:

Joe panthers looked awesome man. A buc fan rooting for the panthers to win? What the hell..sad sad day.

  93. PRBucFan Says:

    NFC SOUTH PRIDE!!!!!!! lol

  94. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Luker

    1967-to-2013

So 46yrs and not one QB thats rushed for 400 yards and won a Super Bowl in the same year. Like I said FACT

  95. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

    Here u go..lol

  96. MadMax Says:

….and I just woke up…passed out throughout the whole thing LOL. I just fussed at my girlfriend, “why didnt you wake me up?”

Oh well, I called it, the 49’ers would win and they did….now to watch Denver win 😉

  97. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I get a very happy feeling watching Cam and the Panthers get humiliated. It just makes me feel good. And I still think SF beats Seattle next week. They aren’t the least bit intimidated, and they are rolling on both sides of the ball.

  98. lurker Says:

wtf luv…you said offensive line was a fact…i never said a rushing qb for 400 yards…

nice way to make things up, man.

  99. lurker Says:

marshawn lynch was beasting yeaterday. watch out niners.

  100. Drew Says:

Blount lit it up again yesterday. This is what a not a Schiano man does. Pisses me off.

  104. lurker Says:

    scrambling, rushing…ok

i want a qb who can escape. i don’t want them to rush first. where did i say i want a qb to rush for 400 yards? why did you pick 400 yards anyways?

  105. ed Says:

Miners wore out Carolina. Kap was better than Cam. Harbaugh outcoached Rivera. Niner D more impressive than Panthers. Gore and Boldin were so physical. A second half beat down in Charlotte.

  106. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

Sure, whatever say. The conversation was changed the moment you started speaking about “need a scrambling qb” & “the game has changed”. So I ran with it.
    Flow of conversation I guess.

  107. PRBucFan Says:

Simmer down now y’all lol 😉

  108. LUVMYBUCS Says:

  111. lurker Says:

i am posting in 2 threads, and being online, it is easier to misunderstand the convos going on. i though u meant offensive line…oops.

so you do not want a qb who can move, scramble, and create?

also, yes, the history of the nfl has been pocket passer…but is that not changing? of course it will take time for them to get to the superbowl. the stats are skewed now.

it will be interesting to see a manning/brady pocket passer vs kaepernick/Wilson mobile qb in the superbowl. but the defenses, offensive line 😉 , rusching game, special teams will matter too.

  112. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    *we can agree to disagree.

  113. lurker Says:

half my posts are not freakin getting posted…rrrrrrr

    what the heck.

i thought u were talking about the offensive lines, before, when you said it was a fact.

everything else that disappeared, i do not want to retype.

  114. lurker Says:

funny how my short posts go through today, but not the longer ones.

  115. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @lurker

You know what, I think that’s the problem. Because I was experiencing the same problem early in that conversation. All my video post I guess..lol

  116. lurker Says:

and i never said i wanted a qb to rush for 400 yards.

also, yes, the history of the nfl has been “pocket passers” so of course, statistically it will skew towards that. are not mobile qb’s becoming the norm, and if more teams go that way, then your superbowl history will change too.

  117. lurker Says:

it will be interesting to see a manning/brady vs wilson/kaepernick superbowl.

but of course the whole team matters and defense, rushing, special teams, and even offensive line 😉 will matter too.

  122. PRBucFan Says:

    lol funny stuff

  123. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’ve gone back 15 Superbowl winning teams and have yet to find a “scrambling/running QB….so, perhaps I’m missing something. Maybe this year will be the first with Wilson/Kaepernick….but there hasn’t been any in a long, long time.

  124. PRBucFan Says:

    That would make sense though

The game has transitioned away from the pure pocket passers.

Russel Wilson will change that this year 😀 lol

Remember, I’ve seen it with my crystal ball

  125. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Went back to 1970…..the only one I found was Steve Young (ex Buc) in 1994…..otherwise, all were essentially pocket passers.

  126. Tampabaybucfan Says:

PR….maybe you are right…..maybe not. Don’t bet your Columbia mansion on it….

  127. lurker Says:

either way…glennon is not the answer!

    😉

  128. lurker Says:

    that was just crazy…

I’ve had a post or 2 say “awaiting moderation” before, but nothing was said today.

  129. lurker Says:

    eli manning won 2 superbowls…

he scrambled and made some throws to win those games…so it just goes to your definition. john elway won a superbowl.

  130. lurker Says:

    brett farve, aaron rodgers.

they were not stiffs. they scrambled and made plays. so did drew brees.

  131. lurker Says:

    *favre

  132. lurker Says:

    again, semantics, I guess.

  133. PRBucFan Says:

The further back you go the more less likely you’d find traditional pocket passer 😉

  134. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @lurker

Maybe Joe is monitoring you because your moniker is sort of suspicious….could be the moniker of a sex offender, stalker or pedifile.

And….really, Eli Manning is considered a scrambling/running QB….if he is, everyone is.

I’m not saying mobility isn’t important…it is particularly important when you have a weak O-line and recievers that can’t get open and no running game (sound familiar)

  135. PRBucFan Says:

my bad less likely you’d find someone whose not* one

  136. PRBucFan Says:

It’s not about the game moving to read option quarterbacks, what we are saying is the game is moving towards QB’s who can be a threat with their feet if they need to be and that can get away from these faster bigger defenders.

    The game is evolving

  137. PRBucFan Says:

QB’s who are sitting ducks will fade away IMO

  138. lurker Says:

my doctor wishes I was a pedifile! and I do need to walk more… 🙂

actually, lurker is one who reads in threads but rarely posts (lurks)…but I finally posted here and didn’t want to change my name. I’ve already been accused of posting under various handles…lol

    but actually, that is clowney.

  139. Tampabaybucfan Says:

John Elway….highest season rushing yds total 304….not exactly burning it up!!!

There are plenty of QBs that move around well in and out of the pocket that aren’t runners….Rodgers & Brees come to mind.
This entire discussion probably stems from Glennon’s lack of mobility.
If they had let Freeman run, he might still be here (well, maybe not)

That’s not the point, the point is if you see all these top rated passers coming in.

They can be a threat with their feet, Luck can be a throaty with his feet.

They can get away if they have to.

Rodgers and Brees can be threats with their feet if they have to.

They aren’t sitting ducks when the pressure gets through the line.

    Ala a Glennon.

  141. PRBucFan Says:

    throaty??? wth lol threat*

  142. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    To Lurk:

(person or animal) be or remain hidden so as to wait in ambush for someone or something.

    Joe…..be on alert!!!

  143. lurker Says:

I wondered how u knew luck was throaty? lol

and I have always thought that when freeman lost his mobility he lost half his effectiveness. also, I do not know why he lost the weight he did. he regressed then too.

  144. PRBucFan Says:

No one is saying they have to be “runners” but they have to be able to run if need be.

IMO the game is moving towards that.

And if you don’t have a QB that can somehow compensate for that, they aren’t starting QB’s.

Sitting ducks won’t make it in todays NFL

But any who I think i’ve stated the same thing like 4 different ways lol.

I hear what your saying, just not getting my point across well enough I guess.

We’ll just agree to disagree 😀

  145. lurker Says:

I think it is your accent prbucfan. 😉

    lol

  146. PRBucFan Says:

Damn, I think your right Lurk! lolol

  147. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Sure…it would be great to have a QB that can scramble and run once in a while but I don’t think its absolutely necessary.
I’d like to see us draft or go into FA to create depth/competition at the QB position….but, even then, we may not get a runner.
I’d also like to have a TE that can recieve and block….an Olinemen that can consistantly pass block and open up running lanes. A 3rd reciever that can get open….and how about a DE that can sack and constantly harrass the QB.

  148. Tampabaybucfan Says:

While we’re at it….a safety that can tackle without a 15 yd penalty and more than one shutdown corner.

  149. PRBucFan Says:

We may not get a “runner” but we’ll get someone with the ability to run if need be, not a sitting duck lolz 😉

    buuuut I heeeeaaar ya =)

  150. lurker Says:

everything else can be gotten in the coming drafts or free agency, not a qb unfortunately.

  151. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    and….oh yea, I forgot….a FB that can block, run & catch…
and a OC that will call his number more than once every two games…..

I want a lot of things….I’d have most all of these if I were a Panther, Seahawk or 49r fan….but that would suck!!!

  152. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    PR…..

Sounds lke you’re a ABG guy…..(you figure it out)

  153. PRBucFan Says:

I’ll be whatever you want me to be TBBF 😉

  154. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ lurker (not-lurking)

Yes…we can pick up a lot of pieces to the puzzle this year, I am sure…..Top priority 3rd WR…..CB….DE….TE…..and I’d like to get younger on the Oline.

  155. WalkdaPlank Says:

When you see teams like the 9ers and Seahawks where they are today, it hurts to be a Bucs fan. These are two teams that just a couple of seasons ago the Bucs were beating up on. Now look at them. In just one or two seasons both these teams did a complete 180 and turned into instant contenders. After 5 full seasons, the Bucs are still rebuilding.

  156. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    PR…..Anybody But Glennon

    Here is the exciting news….
    Bridgewater
    Clowney
    Manziel
    Matthews
    Bortles
    Carr
    Watkins
One of these guys will be ours….unless we want Mack or trade down….One of these would be a good start.

  157. PRBucFan Says:

I’m honestly ok with any of them.

If Love and Jeff pick Glennon, i’m fine with it.

But I hope their competition for the job

And oh lol, i see i see

  158. PRBucFan Says:

I was googling AGB like crazy, ahahaha.

I had the wrong acronym and everything

  159. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Oh…sure….if these new coaches sign off on giving Glennon another year to develop….I’m fine…you know the Glazers will let them do whatever they want….draft up…whatever.

Look at that list of players…..solid picks….someone is gonna want to trade up to get one of them.

  160. PRBucFan Says:

I’m pretty sure Lovie is going to get to do whatever he wants.

I would think so anyways hahaha

  161. lurker Says:

if we don’t move up, we should stay put. any one of those players would work well, even Matthews. but I think we need to snag one of those and not move down.

and when I said we can get the others holes filled in the coming drafts, I meant, 2015, 2016, etc. we will hopefully not be picking this high to get a qb next year, 2016, 2017.

  162. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I mean…I’ve been watching Denver…..Peyton with an empty backfield…yelling “Omaha”…..snap 1,2…throw to open reciever…..wow!!!
We just don’t get open like that.

  163. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I don’t think we will pick this high next year…but there are many QBs that will be drafted high this year, so not many teams will need QBs next year….and next year we will have all of our picks….we will have Winston, Mariota, Hundley & others coming next year (2015)….that would be the year to trade up….and meanwhile the rest of our team is developing….get the Franchise guy next year if Glennon or TBA doesn’t perform in 14……

  164. mark2001 Says:

I like Seattle in the next game and think they should win it, other things being equal. But I think it will be a game where it really comes down to a one turnover advantage, or a big special teams play that will likely be the difference…two good balanced teams, a lot of rivalry, that know each other very well. I’m looking forward to it…should be a great game.

  165. Mike Says:

Hey joe/joes…. Love you guys but Newton sucks! If that’s a franchise QB, then I don’t want one!

  166. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Newton Double-sucks….

  167. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Lol @ the Joes. The Panties got handled.

  168. Trubucfan22 Says:

I guess joe should stick to covering the bucs… Cam is a cry baby and can’t handle pressure. Luke keuchly is the most overrated player in the nfl. All of his tackles are 6 yards down field and most are him just jumping on the pile.

Panthers are a good team, and most days cam is a good QB, but cam doesn’t have the mental make up to be an nfl great.

  169. Mike Says:

Thinking Trubucfan hit that on the head! Sorry but Cam crumbles under pressure
