Greg Schiano Pleads With Fans For Noise

December 5th, 2013

Among the interesting nuggets at today’s Greg Schiano news conference was a shout to Bucs fans for noise. The head coach wants Buffalo to struggle in their hurry-up offense.

“I just throw this out there to our fans that when a no-huddle team tries to communicate, if you can take the verbal communication out of it by crowd noise, it’s very, very helpful,” Schiano said. “So now it’s all hand signals. So we need our own 12th man when we’re on defense this weekend.”

Well, play meaningful games and you will get crowd noise. Funny how that works huh?

  2. chef paul Says:

Ha. Good luck with that Greg. You could have kindergarten nap time in that stadium on Sundays.

  3. The_Buc_Realist Says:

The loudest I heard the fans, were when they are trying to fire their own coach!

  4. Bucnjim Says:

Funny how when Lynch would ask for noise the stadium erupted. Give the fans ANYTHING to cheer about and WE will be loud. Lay a turd like last week and half of us will be resting up for work Monday. trust me I can sleep with the product that has been on the field most of this year.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

Yah huh. The loudest game of the season so far was the Aints game. Even then there was entire rows of fans just sitting there with their hands in their laps. It’s a Buc fan’s life. Quietest stadium in the NFL and that’s even when they have a winning record. Lame but true.

  6. Rob Says:

Dor how it’s done, see: Seattle, Kansas CIty. Those stadiums are loud even when the team sucks. They take pride in it.

  7. Rob Says:

    Er… For how it’s done…

  8. BigSombrero Says:

Trade off then coach. Stop the stunts, fans will make noise.

  9. Bucnjim Says:

Wasnt like that for the first 10-12 years of the new stadium. The Glaziers must take full responsibility for letting this re-established franchise slip back into the laughing stock they used to be. It really is a shame because they had righted the ship only to let it sink because of poor financial and strategic decisions.

  10. d-money Says:

If you are in that stadium you should be cheering and supporting the team no matter what the record is.

  11. Buc1987 Says:

d-money…well said. I might add my favorite line of all time. “The Bucs lead the league in fair-weather fans.”

I’m loud as hell at every home game, from start to finish. No matter if the Bucs are losing 31-0 or winning 31-0. No matter if they are 3-9 or 9-3. It’s the way it should be as far as I’m concerned. Sadly it’s far from it. It will take multiple back to back good seasons to get that place loud again.

The 12 man is one of the most important positions a team can have.
Buc fans (I am) should learn how to play their position.

I am from Title Town, USA. Now there 12 man is a pro…
I have seen the 12 man shout out teams..

On a Friday Night in south ga. The Valdosta Wildcats 12 man won the game.

The other team had the ball and Wildcats band was play while the other team was in huddle, so the coach of that team got the officials to throw a flag and 15 yard but did not say it was the band that cause it… Fans confused about it … But Wildcats play on next play the band did the same thing…so another flag and 15 yards. Now the Fans know why the wildcats got 30 yards of penalties
And then the 12 man (fans) started screaming and pounding there feet on the metal stadium floor (1st quarter til Game Over) and every time they Had the ball they did it again.. Other team could not hear anything at all, they made no offensive play. Could not even punt. All game same thing.
It was unreal 12 man shut down a team..
I am from there been to a lot of Wildcat games and the Fans are Pros, that 12 man will win a lot for you.
After game no one could talk voice was gone.

The Valdosta Wildcats can lose for 60 years and still have a winning record.

I can’t really blame that city though. You guys have tons of other stuff to do down there. You got water, beaches, boats, hot chicks, and lots of sun and apparently a surplus of strip clubs. Up north football games is the funnest thing we got. Our minds are on shoveling snow and getting the motivation to lay with our corn fed horse faced wives.

You’re right on that last part. It’s hard to cheer when the product
being put on display has been a losing one for 4 of the last 6 seasons and no playoff berth since 2007.

  15. andres Says:

All 12 of us are going to give them hell Greg!

  16. Awaiting moderation Says:
