Staying Level-headed

Donald Penn talks about the keys to O-line success

Last week’s win over the Lions was cool in one aspect: The Bucs’ offensive line, greatly improved since the first seven weeks of the season, proved they could slug it out (but not run the ball) against a strong front-seven defensive team and win a close game.

Well, that task is going to get a bit tougher today. While the Lions have a damned good front-seven, the Stinking Panthers have perhaps the best front-seven in the NFL.

Earlier this week, Joe asked the anchor of the Bucs offensive line, Donald Penn, if winning a brawl with the Lions gave his teammates confidence to tangle with the Stinking Panthers’ front-seven.

“It’s not that we never had confidence,” Penn said. “It’s just that, through the season, we were not playing to our potential. We have to stay even-keeled. We don’t want to get too excited and get ahead of ourselves.”

Interesting response. Just stay locked in at the task and hand and if you do your job, then good things will happen. This is called, in some circles, “keeping your head in the game.” Using your head more than your emotions.

    Great stuff Joe.

Love Penn’s description of the mindset, and couldn’t agree more.

This mindset is a Schiano mindset?

With charles johnson being out, the Bucs have one less DL to worry about but the stinkin’ panthers still have a good defense. Hope our OL is ready to get the runing game back on track.

Joe has never change fonts. FYI, you can always increase the screen size of your browser for better reading options.

TBBF…Just go to settings in your browser and click on ‘show advanced settings’ You’ll see fonts and you can change the font and the size of the font. It’s probably set on medium. Just make it large. Problem solved. I’m using chrome but it’s probably the same on Explorer. You can change it in settings on any browser.

Also on Chrome, you can crank up the size of the page to 500 percent of original.

I notice the post times are a hour ahead of actual time, no change after the time was moved back. Maybe it’s just my phone.
