Bucs Have Rattled The Lions

November 24th, 2013
Darrelle Revis 1125

Darrelle Revis and the Bucs have messed with the minds of the Lions so much, they have called for the always fun and often dreaded players-only meeting.

If you can’t get enough of the Bucs’ thrilling 24-21 win over the Lions today, if you want icing on that delicious chocolate cake, Joe has it for you.

Per Kyle Meinke of MLive.com, the Bucs have gotten into the heads of the Lions so bad, have rattled them so much, that the Lions called the dreaded and always fun “players-only” meeting.

“We definitely need to have a team-meeting,” tailback Reggie Bush said. “Really dig deep inside and find out what we’re made of. And it’s going to take everyone on this team — the coaching staff, the players — to overcome this.”

Can he call the meeting?

“I can,” he said, “but it’ll happen.”

And he did, as Meinke later wrote that Nate Burleson was 100 percent behind Bush in wanting a team meeting.

Joe’s just going to guess we won’t be reading about Matthew Stafford oversleeping for meetings and team photos, nor will we be reading about Stafford being stripped of any team honor or title.

Somehow…someway…..we got away with a win today….the ball bounced our way….and Glennon didn’t lose it for us.
We beat a team with a winning record/division leader in their house……
Lets continue to do some damage…we can hurt some team’s playoff dreams….how sweet these “meaningless” games can be!!!

I’d love for the Bucs to rattle Jim Harbaugh along with Jim Schwartz. Ya know, so we can complete the handshake. 😉

See? Now doesn’t this feel so much better than coming on here a bitching and whining about why we suck, and speculating on who our #1 over all pick will be? My brain says YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!!

Our draft pick will be a great player that will help us….and I am excited by some of the play from our younger players…..Glennon, Wright, Rainey, James, Banks, Gorrer, LJ, Page….

Would have been 30-21 Bucs if not for the horrible Kicker we have to make due with.

Joe..by my calculation, Glennon has a 91.7 QB rating ave for this year. That is pretty close to a top 10 in the league, if not in the top 10. Pretty good for a young guy. Of course, if Glennon falters, one of the top guys might fall into our lap….if he continues to play like he has, he may play us out of having a shot at one of the top guys. And all the 1st round QB talk may be academic or obviously a good idea in another five games.

Too early to anoint Glennon as a Franchise QB or a back up QB. Next five games will tell a lot.

Hey Joe, they just showed an awesome clip of Schiano post game giving a speech after the giants cowboys game. Would be awesome if you could that posted on here

    @Mark2001

I agree that the top 2-3 QB prospects won’t be there for us…but there are a bunch of really good QBs that will likely be available in round 2…..Murray, Mettenberger, Boyd, McCarron, Hundley….at least 1 or 2 of those guys will still be there…
The question will be…do we want to use that pick to challenge Glennon (if needed) or to get our long-term inexpensive backup.
I’d like to see us drop down in round 1…pick a player of need (lineman 0 or D) or WR/TE…..and in turn pick up another round 2 pick…..in that case, I would definately pick another QB.

Just wondering what does the last paragragh have to do with your article ! LOL

  11. WalkdaPlank Says:

@TBBF – Well, my guy, Aaron Murray tore his ACL last night so he’ll probably fall a few draft slots unless he has a killer combine. Even then he may end up being a 3rd round QB. Wonder if he’ll be there in the 3rd when the Bucs pick.

  12. Pete 422 Says:

Just a really weird game. It seems the football gods wanted the Bucs to win this game.

As for the draft, I’d like to see a pass rusher in round 1 or an impact WR if one is available

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Maybe Stafford forgot his Ritalin….or….was he supposed to take Adderall…

    @ Pete422

Sammy Watkins should be there for us at #5-7….

This has nothing to do w/the article, but I was at today’s game and some how got seated w/ pretty good size group of other Buc fans, had an awesome time!! Didnt hurt that there were a couple Buc cheerleaders right by us either!! Great road win!! Go BUCS!!!

    Plank:

Very doubtful, if Murray has surgery, he will be able to walk into the combine (February).

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ WalkdaPlank

    We don’t have a third round pick….but I agree that he’s a great prospect….maybe he falls to the 4th….

  17. Mr. Patrick Says:

I would call a team meeting too if my team had just played so sloppy and just handed a giftwrapped win to the other team

  18. Evan Says:

At least another team knows what it’s like to feel our pain for those weeks where we lost close. I agree with all of the above me, Joe, what’s your Intel on the kicker we had in training camp? Dempke? Obviously they made the wrong decision on that one.

  19. McGuffey Says:

Yeah. Kicker cost me on the over.

That was one odd game. I am glad we hung in there.

My new phone auto corrected my user name to McGuffey. Sorry about that
