This is the reason College’s coach fail in the NFL. They can not coach men who talk back. Instead of working with them, they just cut them. The Buc’s tried to get some of the free agents but they refuse to come because of coach ego. That is the reason he announce he would tone it down this year.

Antoine Winfield would be awesome.

He is STILL considered the top run defense CB in the NFL. He could still be very useful as depth and as a mentor. I know he and Ronde are old, but dont tell tell me that it wouldnt be special to see them talking to our young corners and leading by example.

But there is a ZERO percent chance we do that.

Coach is convinced he can run a college-like program and help players evolve.

They think they can make Gorrer, Tandy and Johnson into players.

Add 2 more from this draft this. Thats 5 young DB’s.

I think we are sticking with YOUTH, speed, and hope we can develop hard workers.

We are going to give roster spots to young, fast talent.

So forget the idea of signing guys older than 28.

THis is the Dominik Doctrine. Saturate one position during the draft like he he did on the D-line and receivers, hope you hit on some.

Not surprising he would do that with corners.

Usually his methodology leads to very long losing streaks and NFL records for futility in one or more important aspects of the game – like stopping the passing or running game. Horrifying team records have also been shattered, like most points given up in a season, etc. Not to mention the now four year dry spell on the playoffs.

Working like a charm. Keep up the good work. No need to alter the grand plan.

If the Bucs come out with no name rookie corners, no depth on the defensive line and lose the first two home games… Raymond James Stadium will be a ghost town.

good teams that are in close games dont loos them. Our team lacks the ability to close games. 10-6 is reserved for teams who win close games not choke them away.

I sure hope so! Atlanta’s receivers torched Goldson in the playoffs last year.
We only got a C in free agency grade, so far.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers relied on a more thrifty approach to free agency, after 2012′s big-money moves. Their biggest deal secured prized free safety Dashon Goldson.

He will certainly improve a weak secondary and form a dangerous tandem with big-hitter Mark Barron. However, as skilled as Goldson is, his play certainly deteriorated in last season’s playoffs.

He was alarmingly bad against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game. Considering he’ll now be facing Julio Jones and Roddy White twice a season, Goldson had better get back to his best soon.

The other signings were low-cost additions that mainly focus on depth. Still, if Goldson plays to his talent, the Bucs will emerge from free agency as winners.

There was only one game where we were not competitive. There were 5 where we lost on 1 or 2 plays late (usually because of a lapse in the secondary). The evidence supports that we are much closer to 10-6 than 4-12.

Guys you don’t think that’s a little bit of postering on the Bucs behalf back to the Jets? Jets have publicly said this week they could sign Revis to an extension possible to make the Bucs or another team panic and ultimately meet their trade demands. Say what you want to say about Schiano he’s no fool and very calulated.

I can’t imagine they would wheel out 2 rookie cb’s week 1 unless 1 of those was Milner (lost of picks to trade up for him) or there were a slew of injuries or suspensions. Plus you need 3 starting corners in this league not 2. 1 other thought and I hope this wasn’t also directed at Wright! Would be for him to not face an outright release and sign a significantly reduced 1 year deal. I would rather see Wright cut and a no name undrafted free agent start in front of that disgrace.
