I think the Bucs actions are speaking for themselves by hiring Goldson. They are preparing for Rhonde inevitable departure. Very stoked about the Goldson hire! Now get a DE to get some pass rush and a TE that can catch and pass/run block. Use the draft to fill in for the depth.

I hope Ronde comes back to play nickel/third safety/run down corner. His instincts, experience, versatility and toughness make him valuable – well beyond his salary.

He is one of the top 3 or 4 greatest bucs – all things considered.

Ronde should take Tikis advice. He’s not going to make millions somewhere else and once footballs done it’s done you can’t go back. He should stay and be a mentor, not like Ronde can’t play nickel& dime and blitz he’s just not a starter anymore.

I think Ronde is relived, and happy!
I guarantee you, he didn’t want the pressure of carrying the secondary- like he did last year. Not at 37. Nobody wants to play with a bunch of talentless bunglers. Being associated with last years idiots must have been embarrassing for Ronde!

Now, he can play slot CB- where he is STILL among the leagues best- and where he played alot last year. He can also help all the new comers learn the system. And now, finally, he can carry a lighter load.

I don’t know what some of you are thinking. You talk like Ronde was some kind of has been, burden on our secondary. You obviously don’t watch the games. Or read ANY of the trade publications. If you did, you’d realize that you are absolutely wrong!

Ronde was rated the best DB in our secondary- by far! Better than Talibum, Wright, Barron, Biggers, Etc. he was moved to Safety- because he was the only DB that had run stopping skills! And stopping the run was priority one this season. Ronde still played CB over half the time- and was still one of best in the league.

Don’t know why some seem to act like the Bucs want to push him out the door. It’s quite opposite! They are trying to pursued him to come back one more year- to orchestrate all the new players into a cohesive unit.

The Bucs are being diplomatic and respectful, as they should be. But the direction has been set with the Goldson signing. Ronde must now consider how he wants to be remembered. There is no doubt he can still play, but how will he be used and will it be fitting for the HOFer-in-waiting that he is. Ronde will make the best decision I’m sure!
