Love this signing. Not too keen on the thought of Revis but there are not a lot of options.

One thought on Wright…why is be filing a grev if the Bucs have not voided his contract yet? Or did I miss it?

Love the signing and I’m excited to see Goldson and Barron together in the secondary, I expect the two of them to be vicious.

I’ve said it for years on a couple different Tampa message boards; the Glazers will spend money. For all those who were crying when the Bucs didn’t go all out on Haynesworth, Nnamdi and Doug Free, these last two season show that when a marquee player hits free agency in their prime, as Goldson, V-Jax and Carl Nicks did (remember, all three would have been franchise tagged if the salary cap wasn’t an issue), the Bucs will be aggressive in making an offer to land their man.

I don’t know the breakdown of the contract in terms of how much Goldson will earn each season, but credit Dom and the front office for structuring these deals to allow the team to be aggressive in free agency for the second season in a row. With another strong draft, this could finally be the season the Bucs make it back to the postseason.

If I’m Tampa, I’m now looking for a veteran defensive end to replace Bennett and mentor the youth on this team, a TE such as Brandon Myers (underrated athlete who can produce) and at least one CB such as Sean Smith or Revis in a trade. I think with moves like this, Ronde would be refreshed to give it another go and in the draft we can target LB, CB and OT with the first three picks.

Great addition to the Bucs. Anyone going in safety territory is guaranteed to get thumped with Barron and Goldson. Sounds like a law firm back there…’Barron & Goldson’… “come to us if you want to feel like you’ve been in a car wreck.”

So why did San Fran not try and retain him? Other needs first? Cap/money issues? The 49ers organization wasn’t sold on Goldson for the money, like Bennett with the Buccaneers? If teams want to keep you, they’ll usually find a way, no?

Joes right! We sign a couple of Good Free agent Cornerbacks, then draft one- our secondary could be league best! Especially if we sign Revis!

So great, I’ve had NFL network on for the past hour and they barely even mentioned it! Pissed about that. Awesome, that as fans we know if the GM wants a particular guy he goes out and does what he has to…to bring him to Tampa and sign him!

On a different note, the Cardinals and Lions both grabbed running backs (they were named as potential trading partners for Blount). Maybe saving him for the Jets…
