Problem with Lewis at safety is he is as soft as a fresh baked roll.

The last thing I want to see is Lewis getting run over/missing a tackle and the Bucs giving up a 65 yard touchdown as a result.

Lewis hasn’t shown much, and even less interest in being on the field

Only strange thing to me is- coming out of college, many scouting reports stated that he would move to safety in the NFL( ala our SuperBowl safety Dwight Smith). With his apparent struggles at CB, I would have expected him to get a look a safety.

Either way- it’s time for him to go. He has way too many nicks and dings, that keep him from playing.

Joe talks about how wretched Benn’s ACL injury was and how it hampered his career. Funny, I don’t recall people discussing how gruesome the injury was at the time. In fact, Benn returned to action fairly quickly if Joe can remember reporting on that the following offseason. How many games did Benn miss in 2011 due to the ACL injury? Any? He played in 14.

He wasn’t very good. He isn’t very good. Hard worker, not able to grasp the offense, not the player Dom thought he was. But keep running with the injury story Joe, ACL’s really destroyed Wes Welker and Adrian Peterson’s careers as well as countless other present day players. Benn actually had his career high in yardage, catches and TD’s the year AFTER he tore his ACL. Go figure.

I would love it if we signed Drew Stanton.He’s held a clipboard long enough.Would love it if he beat out Freeman.Then when a team’s QB goes down.We can pitch Freeman in a trade ala the Raider’s and Palmer

@Macabee,
Being that Schiano came out and mentioned Black by name as someone he saw some good things from, you’d have to think if the Bucs add a safety in FA Grimm will be visited by the reaper.

As far as Lewis goes, mentioned this in another post but when that guy dies, he’ll STILL probably have a locker over at One Buc. Crazy how he’s lasted this long.

Lewis was a terrible pick, and it was obvious the day of the draft. Just a poor, poor choice and it has played out exactly like I expected it to. Time to cut ties with the busts.
