the injury and the contract terms are worrisome, but without revis the jets would have had about as much success as the bucs over the last half-decade. rex ryan’s offensive and defensive philosophies, like schiano’s, fall apart without a shutdown corner. if you play a blitz-heavy scheme with mediocre CBs you end up giving up point totals like we did, and then the notion of ball-control offense goes out the window.

We should hope the Eagles make a play for him.

We would be good if we could trade for Revis but we could be better if the Eagles did. #1 – the Eagles are projected to draft Milliner whom is without a doubt the best CB in the draft. This would increase the likelihood that we’d be in position to draft or trade to draft the corner. #2 – they would have to release Asomoucantspellhisname . He doesn’t compare with Revis anymore but he’d still be a great pickup at an affordable price.

I don’t know the likelihood of those events taking place but we’d be in a great spot if it did.

I got a feeling Dominik is the going to pull the trigger on Revis trade, giving up multiple 2nd rd and a 3rd, and making Revis close to the highest paid defender in the league

Though it might not mean much, Ive heard Dashon Goldson has expressed interest in playing for the Bengals. As there are so many smoke screens and what not surfacing right now, you just never know.

Wish i could go into hibernation til Tuesday, all this speculation is killing me!

Revis would be great and I wouldnt mind trading the 13th pick for him seeing there is no corner that will be sitting there, worth the reach.
What is a killer is the 16+ mil/year he will be requesting. Thats pretty much like taking away 2 solid FA signings (like a Cox/Smith and Goldson this year) per year for as long as hes under contract.
Either way, we will be upgrading the CB position and improving our team.

Im so torn. Id love to have Revis n pay him if he was the same ol Revis. But if hes not…. man.. id also be good with goldson n damn near any 2 cbs on free agency. Id say as much as id give up is a 1st n the patriots 4th round we got if hes good to go. Maybe throw in blount since hes worth a first rounder instead of the first (kidding). But havin revis out there and still have the number one rushing defense. The passing d would jump way up with just him (once again if hes good to go) meh. Glad i dont have to make that decision. Im game with whatever we do as long as we dont give up too much if we go for revis.

I would rather spend that money on Dashon Goldson and either Cox or Smith at corner. We have too many holes, we are not one corner away from winning sadly, we are 3 corners away, a safety, a tight end, and a slot receiver away from winning it all.

I’m trying not to get too excited about having Revis, but that’s becoming more and more difficult. Unfortunately, we’ve been down this road before (Jared Allen, Brett Favre, etc.), and we usually get the silver medal.

Hello, earth to fellow Buc fans: our secondary is putrid. Revis would instantly be our best player, and possibly the best player in the NFC South.

Wake up folks, we have 40 million+ in cap space. Revis isn’t going to hurt us too bad. Pay him QB money, smartly set up a contract, and draft a QB- thus relieving the need to pay that much “QB money” to the wrong guy.

Think of it this way, if the Bucs are looking to hand out “QB money”, than I expect a “QB like impact”, which is exactly what Revis will do.

Who is more worth of the “QB money”: Revis or Freeman? No question, sign, trade, and acquire Darrelle Revis.

He would only want 2-3 million more than GMC makes, shoot, Revis “deserves” that kind of money before GMC, fact.
