An article about the FSU defender turns into a discussion about a Notre Dame linebacker. The girlfriend hoax is one of the more bizarre stories I ever heard. I’m glad Hawaiian Buc enlightened us on the frequency of couples marrying who never met. Maybe that explains it a little. I’m old school and kind of liked the days where you could touch your potential mate, hear her laugh, see how she conducts herself and look into her eyes. I guess that’s why I found the right one when I was 17 and stayed with her the next 45 years. In spite of how this young man recounts the story, I just don’t understand how, with testosterone pumping, he didn’t insist on meeting her in person even to get a hug. At what point did he start to think something was amiss? Unfortunately, this part of Teo’s life is what will define him because it is just so difficult to comprehend how he was bamboozled.

I gotta agree with the other posters. I like most of your nicknames for people but to call someone a freak/liar is a bit over the line. I hope you reconsider your choice of words there.

As far as the Baron is concerned… It might be kind of cool to have the Baron of Berlin and Mark Barron (Red Barron?) on the same defense.

About Teo, yep, he is a freak….freak at playing LB….but I just dont know about taking him. Maybe if he fell to us in the 2nd since LB isnt such a priority.

Yes Captain Tim, you pretty much got it (except the “queer man” was the one doing the woman voices).

Teo is guilty of being very naive and a product of our non-social society. My business is in the wedding industry. I can’t even tell you how many of our couples today get married off of the internet. It’s probably the most popular way of meeting. Many go months, or even years, without actually meeting each other. So although you or I may think it is crazy, it is just the way it often is nowadays. There’s a lot of things that you or I may have done that seem crazy to our parent’s or grandparent’s generation.

He’s not a freak or a liar, at least not any more than you or I. He’s a good kid that got taken advantage of and had it made public. I’m telling you right now, he is going to be one of the most loved players on this team almost immediately. Do a little research and see how beloved he is at Notre Dame. Look at what he has done in that community. If you want to say he can’t play football (despite a billion awards and scouts that say otherwise), that’s your opinion. Only time will tell. However, calling him a freak and a liar is disgraceful, and a flat out lie. I wouldn’t blame him one bit if he never does an interview for Joe, but I know that won’t be the case.

If I understand the senerio correctly- he was fooled into believing a girl he met on line was real. This horrible hoax was committed by a queer man- who admitted he both knew, and was in love with, Teo. He used his knowledge of him to fool him. He often hired women to call Teo, futher convincing him this woman was real.

While Teo might have been naive, isn’t it the queer man that is the (nauseating) freak here!

I think the (Nauseating) gay guy that perpetrated this hoax should be arrested, publically held accountable- and then hopefully beaten senseless!

Or are we not allowed to say anything- cause we don’t wanna hurt any gay people’s feelings?
