I don’t know much about Chip Kelly but he strikes me as a Steve Spurrier type with a reputation as an innovative offensive “genius” who, in spite of never winning in the NFL yet, is convinced by his bursting ego that one day guys like Buddy Ryan’s fat son Rex, will be “kissing his ring”.

I for one is as happy as could be that er have Schiano. He is on his way to restoring a championship winning team here in Tampa Bay. Glad Chip Kelly turned us down.
@You Go Joe Says: It is quite evident you are not in business management. When you go to hire for a given position, a good personnel manager has one or two other names already vetted so there can be someone put in place.
AS for Blunt, we ether ought to trade him or cut him loose so he can play somewhere. It stands to reason he has pis*** Schiano off and will never do anything of significance here again. Too bad, I loved the high light replays on the tube. GO BUC’S!

I don’t like spread coaches…but it may be an interesting experiment…just glad were not wasting our time with Chip…would have HATED it.

Almost feel sorry for him…or do I feel sorry for Philly fans?

Macabee, you are awesome! That’s a great idea, trade Blount to Philly for Foles and a draft pick. Maybe Kelly will go for it, since Blount played for him.
Foles is a very underrated QB, IMHO.
He is a big dude, like Freeman, but with much better touch, an equally strong arm, and perhaps better accuracy. Who can forget what he did to us, last time he played!

I’m with you Macabee…Ryan Mallet would be a nice pickup but I don’t see it happening. It’s a smart move for the Patriots to keep him so they have a understudy to a great QB.

Looks like good rapport between Greg and Chip. There may be other matters of mutual interest to discuss. RotoWorld is reporting that Kelley wants a 3rd round pick for Foles.

While Schiano has made it clear that Freeman is his guy, it makes as much sense as Belichick drafting Ryan in the 3rd round behind Brady, for Schiano to have a capable back-up behind Freeman.

Now don’t get mad at me for saying this because I’m a Blount fan too, but it is clear, he is not going to play for this coach for whatever reasons. I know that Kelly is trying to re-establish remnants of his old offense. We could get Foles in a trade for Blount and a draft pick beyond the 3rd round.

I heard Kelly’s main reason to join the NFL coach is to avoid the sanctions Oregon will get for some scandal, this was a conversation I had with a buddy of mine.

In the end I felt like coach Schiano was a last minute pickup as all others turned down the job, but it was a decision made with a lot of thought in mind.

And I noticed with an interview of Doug Martin in the pro bowl that a reporter wanted to hear Martin say Schiano was a control freak and a total disciplinarian. Martin actually stood up and said what other’s say, he ask a lot from you and to do it and the team does it.

Only time will tell for sure, but I prefer Schiano as well. It will be fun to watch how these two programs on the rocks will develop over the next few years. Comparisons are inevitable.
