@Rob in Orlando You have this situation pegged. When Freeman gets bad news, he go to pot. (no not accusing him of that although he does have a reputation of putting a few brews away) Look at the picture above the previous article. Does that look like he’s lost?

Screw coddling Freeman and telling everyone that he is our qb. The fact that Coach had to even say it shows there is substantial doubt he is our franchise’s future. Say he is the starter publicly so his fragile feelings don’t get hurt but please have a capable backup to step in if Freeman continues to be dreadfully inconsistent. We need a 60% plus qb who doesn’t turn the ball over. I don’t care who it is. I like Freeman about 55% of the time. Unfortunately, that won’t get the Bucs many playoff wins or realistic shots at winning another Superbowl. Go Bucs!

Lets let Freeman play out his rookie contract, if he does well we can sign him or franchise him. IMO if he has a great year next year we will resign him, if he falters and has a good to less than good season we let him go. NFL= Not For Long for players and coaches. I understand the stated position that he is only 24 and he could go someplace else and win. He has been up and down his first 4 seasons, with new coaches every season. Last season we lost both starting G’s Pro Bowl G’s that makes it very hard to judge him IMO. I have my fingers crossed and I hope Freeman the best. But at the end of the day I want the Buccaneers to win! With or without Freeman as our QB..

From where have you heard this? His work ethic is up their so I will never criticize josh Freeman’s efforts to get bettter.

On the controrary: It’s concerning, from my point of view, that for how much work he puts in, I wonder if he’s just not processing it on the field at game speed.

He still has things too work on. But the one thing that concerns me is his poise and confidence. It seems when we’re down 2 scores he forces too many bad balls to make a play. He makes a mistake early it sticks with him and he’s rattled. You pressure him early he gets rattled. Staring down Wrs.

It’s concerning and if he was the the answer at QB we would have locked him up right now. But he’s not so that tells you theirs too many questions.
