I’ll never understand why someone would want Landry on the Bucs. It will be like have 2 strong safety on the field. Landry is good when playing in the box, but not that good in pass coverage. Jarius Bird on the other hand is a great fit with Mark Barron. He is a real Free Safety and has better field range and will allow Barron to play more in the box.

Look at it how ever you want. There aren’t many players beyond the QB position that I would give up a 1st round pick plus some change to get.
On top of the draft picks we need to probably sign him to a 6 year deal worth probably close to $100 million with around $50 million guaranteed. I’m sorry, I’ll pass. He’ll be a free agent in a year, lets figure out what he’s worth at that point.

On top of the ACL, he also has had hamstring issues in the past. No thank you. The ACL alone makes the talk of a 1st round pick seem ridiculous to me, and on top of that he wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL. With a young defensive roster this just spells disaster when it comes time to lock up our own players.

Trading high draft picks is what got us into this problem of having no veteran stars on our team. We sold our soul for K. Johnson and Gruden and the last few years we have paid for that void in talent. Losing four 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks is hard to overcome it turns out. I have no desire to go through this nightmare again.

All of a sudden our defensive backfield is rebuit just lke that.

Now what do you trade for him?

2 2nd round draft picks (2013 and 14) on the stipulation that he signs a contract… a sign and trade if you will.

Acquiring Revis for the New York transplants doesn’t make sense. The Bucs signed Derrck Ward a couple of years ago and still had blackouts.

Guys the only reason why anyone would give a 1st rounder up for Revis would be all the other Nfl teams out there that want’s there hands on him FIRST! Sure he is a good player, but is going to cost a arm and a leg to get him. Plus we need Buc Men, not I wanna Get Paid Men!

I’d like to point out the last time the Bucs traded 2 first to the Jets there was a Super Bowl shortly after…

Besides, the Bucs next two #1 draft picks might, might be as a good combined as Revis. The injury is scary, but so what? Roll the dice and take a chance on an elite talent that would automatically improve the whole defense.
