GMC going to the Pro Bowl???? Sounds like a negotiated pick with the Buc's front office and the NFL. Looks like they use the same voting machines as the govt.

Sounds to me like a brokered deal like MLB.

The only stat that Dini can brag about is perfect attendance. GMC is not the best player on this team, not even close. He's not the best player on the defense. He's not the best tackle in the NFC South.

Although at a different position Rabbi Te'o-sheim has put up superior stats with less than half the playing time

He might be the best tackle on this team only because after paying his ginormous salary, they can't afford any depth.

I wish Thomas were here to repudiate this. His hatred of McCoy would drive him to break down his performance play by play. I tried to do that but it was so boring to watch him not do anything that I couldn't stay awake.

“Apparently, all that chatter from Bucs opponents about McCoy getting steady penetration and being a guy you gameplan against wasn’t a steaming pile of BS.”

Well, if that's truly the case congratulations to GMC. When I heard the selection I thought, “Shouldn’t stats count for something?” Yet, if opposing coaches and players feel that way about GMC who am I to argue with them. Congratulations to Gerald McCoy.

This is exactly what I argued....people who really know the talent (O-linemen and coaches) could care less about stats. They know who was good and who wasn't because they are in the game. Fans just look at stats so I guess Raheem was right...stats ARE for losers.

@J 2.0

I agree Martin, VJax, David and Barber are all deserving.

David especially has been an absolute beast and Pro-football focus even had him in the rookie of the year running for a little bit. Martin had a great year too but I think the O-line is finally starting to show why we really miss Nicks and Joseph. Barber has played awesome too. I think Dominik did a good job this offseason.

@Miguel El Magnifico

Yesterday I posted Gerald McCoy was a good tackle and was attacked by Miguel El Magnifico he said "I lost all credibility".

He would listen to no reasonable argument and everytime I came up with statistics or evidence or facts he would quote Mark Twain (not sure the relavence there)

I would like to say that this proves who really lost all credibility. Wow, time for someone to get a new screen name I think or maybe Mom will take your keyboard from you for your stupidity. Miguel do us all a favor play World of Warcraft a little more and leave the talking about football to the grown-ups or people who know something or listen to reason.

Signature – Miguel said Ramdog lost credibility because he called McCoy good later that day he is named to the Pro-Bowl by his peers.

PS> I guess stats and experts do know something Miguel

I want to congratulate Gerald McCoy and to lament the others who were close. Like I've said before-close doesn't count. Another reason we want a winning season, players get noticed and rewarded.

@Macabee,
Yes, and Kuechly also doesn't have many splash plays. Also, David has many many more solo tackles. Kuechly likes to jump on the pile, but David seems to bring down guys all by himself (saving big plays). But as a rookie, especially from a small market team like Tampa, it doesn't surprise me one bit that he didn't make it. I'd be shocked if he doesn't make it a bunch of times throughout his career though.

Hawaiian,

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think Kuechly has the most tackles of any LB and he didn't get in. I think David has more tackles for loss. Pro Bowl balloting is as much popularity as it is performance so i'm not surprised some deserving players were overlooked.

Seems to be Jackson was our leading candidate. I guess the other wide outs were flashier.

But hey, if his peers voted him in, he must deserve it.

Of course your kinda supposed to make something out of the third over all pick.
