If he leaves, give QB Coach Ron Turner the job…if for no other reason, to keep some level of familiarity and consistency.

If true, the scary thing is Sullivan must not believe he can build a winner here. He stuck with Coughlin and Manning through thick and thin. Why leave Schiano and Freeman now?

Let me add another possibility. First, if Sullivan leaves, its not the end of the world. IMO, this is a fairly simplistic offense and the play calling and creativity have not been overly impressive. Now to my cospiracy theory. if Sully leaves, could it be that Shiano is not really letting Sullivan run HIS offense. Maybe Sully feels Shiano is handcuffin him. The more I think about, I find it hard to beleive a OC in the NFL would not want to use a proven 1000yd rusher in Blount. IS the HC more involved in the offense than we know? Shiano seems to be a domineering, ego-centric type, and it could be Sullivan is not being allowed to make the calls he feels best for the TEAM. I hope Sullivan stays for continuities sake, but if he’s “lobbying” for jobs during a playoff run, there must be something more to the story.

Will bring in his 1st choice OC (John McNulty) from Rutgers he wasn’t allowed to talk too because he had 1 year remaining on his contract with the Cardinals.

Whatever the decision, get it over with. If the guy wants to go, you have two options. Pay him a huge amount of money to get him to stay, or let him go. Delaying and speculating about it is only a distraction to the team.

If Sullivan does leave, we need to have a replacement/plan in place IMMEDIATELY so Freeman can get right to work on a new system early. Norv Turner will be available.
