So King is credible because he played in a championship game? With that as your logic – anyone who ever had an contract with an NFL team is a credible source of information. I’m sure half the backups in the league would have played better in that game than Burger King. He says whatever crap comes to him to provoke phone calls. The guy is as clueless on the air as he was on the field. I don’t listen to any of the chumps on that station anymore – the only time I’ll tune them in is on a gameday.

Also you must have meant the 2000 season when King had better stats than Williams? That 2000 year King did lead us to a wildcard playoff game, where Philly gave us wood-shed-whooping!

How does a QB who only played in 37% of the season get the whole credit for ‘leading’ his team to the NFC Championship? Dilfer was 7-4 before your great and humble King took over.
BTW Dilfer was winning the Seattle game when King replaced him due to injury. Do you really think we wouldn’t have made it to the NFC Championship with Dilfer? I believe many QBs could have ‘lead’ that team you know the one with that GREAT defense!

Joe I don’t care if King won 3 Super Bowls and played better than manning. If he doesn’t back his statements with facts he is no better than anyone else just shooting off random opinions. He is saying a team that loss to a team with a 10-1 record by one point is giving up(they were suppose to get blown out from his “analysis”) this makes no sense what so ever. Yes the team is building for the future. NAME ME ONE TEAM THAT ISN’T BUILDING TOWARDS THE FUTURE. This is why I think King is not credible. See how I backed my argument with facts. That alone makes me more credible than King.

@joe.. Saying you don’t put King articles on the site to draw fans even when you know it’s negative is like an athlete saying he didn’t sign the new contract for the money. Come on now your readers are smarter than that. How can you stick up or agree with anything King says. Everyone else has noticed he never has a positive comment about the team and should be a major red flag to you that the dude has a deep rooted issue with the team.
I do think its funny you say you don’t put articles from Ian and Ling on here for eyeballs.. It’s just a coincidence you get more comments from these Debbie downers everytime? Come on Joe

The simple fact is that King is a jerk. I mean the guy has a lifetime ban from Tampa Bay Downs for being such a jerk at poker. That is why the community doesn’t respect his opinion. He is usually negative and not the kind of person this community wants to hear talk badly about our team because we don’t value his opinion. Being an average NFL quarterback 10 years ago doesn’t make you an expert on the sport. I guarantee you that most fans would love to hear the opinions from ex-players that we actually respect. ex. Brooks, Lynch, Dunn, Ronde (one day), Alstott, Brad Johnson, Dexter Jackson. Not a marginal NFL player that washed out early in his career and struggled to win every week even with one of the greatest defenses of all time. He keeps his name alive by saying outlandish things for attention. It really is sad. Maybe he should go back to school and find something he is good at.

@Kay and others, please refrain from making statements of alleged fact that can not be proven, like King being “banned from Tampa Bay Downs for life.” Joe is responsible for the content here. Joe’s not interested in being sued. And unless you’re Tampa Bay Downs owner Stella Thayer, then you really can’t have any knowledge of the accuracy of that assertion, which means you might be lying and misrepresenting. Second, perhaps you could actually identify what King said in his quote above that is “outlandish.” It’s actually very reasoned commentary, even if you disagree. — Joe
