I think the Bucs should start keeping both safeties back & see what they can do stopping the run with 7; the LBs are flowing well & the tackling has been crisp for the most part. It doesn’t do a defense any good to shut down the running game if the opponent is going to kill you passing.Give the corners some help over the top.

The issue with consistent pressure isn’t with the entire d-line. It’s actually a problem with the RDE position. If we can get someone to step up at RDE, whether Bowers or Morgan or some combination thereof, you’ll see less doubling of McCoy and less chipping/doubling of Bennett too. That will open it up for more consistently effective pressure. It seems we’re getting Bowers back just in time because this has become a big need. George Johnson didn’t get released for nothing.

The pass rush Really needs to get better to help the secondary. 0 sacks in
2nd half & that’s when Palmer started going off. Hopefully Bowers keeps
getting better & McCoy starts getting pressures up the gut. The run D
has been awesome but the pass rush is the key to help the secondary out.

Against the Chargers the Bucs have a chance for another win if they can get a little pressure on Rivers. He tends to throw it up or force the pass when he is pressure which leads to his high interception total. I can see Rivers throwing for 350 and 3 ints in a lose to the Bucs.

Part of the problem is the bucs got so ahead so quickly in thesecond half the raiders after losing McFadden stopped running which made them pass more often Palmer threw 61 times that’s an insane number of throws. Yes he was able to pretty much throw it around in the fourth but overall we allowed 6.8 yds per attempt so it’s not the dominating bucs defense from the early 2000 but we are getting better.
The bucs rush defense I really the is legite and is unbelievebaly better than last year. I know we play the chargers next then carolina but it will be interesting to see how many carries Michael turner gets compared to how much they just decide to put it in Matt Ryan’s hands. I really can’t stand the falcons hope they win the next two games to be ridding high and cocky when they get to play the bucs.

We have a decent pass rush. On the ahmad black interception carson palmer had defender right on him which caused the play.
