Anybody who looks at this move and is not a homer for either side has to realize that it could be a great move for both teams but that the Pats are assuming all the risk here.

The Bucs got more then we were getting when we walk away at the end of the season. On the Pats side Talib will by default become NE’s best corner. At the end of the day in order for the trade to be worth it to the Pats he has to play well and they need to re sign him. 7 games of mediocrity is not worth a 4th rounder in anybodies books.

The Dom will no doubt use this pick to move up in the first round of the 2013′ Draft to nab his guy again. I love this move and thought getting a 7′th round pick was about the value Aqib(Seeya)Talib.

This does the make the Bucs a better team in 10 days and from here on out. Talib has made a few splash plays but he got burned time after time for big plays and touchdowns. If on many of those plays, including the Giants, Johnson or someone else was in at CB, a play might have been made to prevent a TD. I will definitely take my chances without that THUG POS. Good riddance and hope he does well in NE, but I for one am elated he’s gone………. for good.

@BigPictureGuy – Sorry you have trouble with reading comprehension. Can’t help you with that. Is it such a wild concept to consider a guy overrated and note that his team wins more without him while still acknowledging that a GM and head coach that publicly crave cornerback depth just made a move that kills that depth, depletes the overall talent core and won’t help them win on Nov. 11? It’s really not that tough to understand. Additionally, these posts were independent of each other, not a combination of takes in one story. They stand on their own and complement each other and should be easy to understand. –Joe

@KT what if someone steps up big time. What if they saw something in practice that they can do to help out this pass d. Talib is an embarrassment. Why would you want him representing your team. If you haven’t notice WE WIN WITHOUT HIM. Are we better talent wise. NO! But just because we traded a cancer doesn’t mean the team packed it in.

Very good move, Rock Star just traded the last 8 games with Talib (couldn’t re-sign him after the current suspension) for a likely top 100 pick in a draft deep at corner and DT. Will it help when the last 7 games, no it makes it harder. But the day after the last game it should yield multiple years of benefit. And just think if Dominik uses this 4th rounder like he did last year.

These guys won’t miss him…..take the rose colored glasses off and realize that at the end of the day, they’re playing for, maybe, 8&8 this year. Throw out the trash, evaluate the rest of the roster, and stockpile as many picks as possible. Talib was more ‘focused & disciplined’ because it was a contract year and apparantly, adderall. Yeah, I’m a season tix holder and tired of it too, but at some point the team has to define what they’re about….the title of the post says it all…Good move……Go Bucs!!
