tampa bay seems to be a magnet for this sort of thing. remember when joe maddon first came here, people thought he was a joke…he still drives people crazy, but his shifts are the norm league-wide now and he’s a perennial manager of the year finalist. people were skeptical of the “minor league” guy boucher, and in his first year he got within a game of the Stanley Cup final with a system pro hockey had never seen. dungy & monte kiffin resuscitated a scheme from the football archives and implemented it to great effect here. tinker away, coach schiano

Hey guys
I have not been around much after this game,but did anyone else see what I saw? This team had some bad things happen and some bad calls and still brought the game down to the last play.The power and play of all the team was amazing.The team to me looks like a team on the verge of something big.I have not seen a Bucs offence with that kind of play since the 79 team and still these guys looked better.I know it was a PAINFUL!! loss but I can`t wait to watch this offence kick some Viking butt!!!

You are both right and wrong. The play before, they ran a Schiano-type kneel down defense. This is why they didn’t kneel down on that play, thus fumbling the ball.

Thank you Joe Theismann. I hope the majority on this board stand behind Coach Schiano. I for one like what I see so far and hope he will put the Bucs in the upper level of NFL teams.

The Herm Edwards play wasn’t a true victory formation call, where the QB takes a knee while the rest of the team encircles him. Pisarcik tries to hand the ball off to the RB (Csonka?) and it bounces off his hip and Edwards scooped it up and carried it in. I understand what Theismann was trying to say, just not the best of examples.

Not even a hater of their show but I love Ian’s ubiquitous “I played in the league…” references every time they interview a former player. Don’t understand why a guy that played 8 years in NFL is so insecure about whether other players know him or not. I digress, good interview.

I think its awesome,Coach will try new and different things…plus he has the guys playing with alot of intensity and fire….The future is bright and who cares what others think….ie: media , local radio , ex- buc players
