Let me help you comprehend it. First of all, that was 7 years ago, and I’m pretty sure Jackson didn’t miss 2 days of practice with a calf strain before he ran the 40. Second, they usually don’t run the 40 in pads. Third, they usually don’t run the 40 in the Florida heat. Fourth, the last time I checked, the distance of the 40 yard dash is timed over 40 yards. The last time I checked, 95 yards is more than 40 yards. Fifth, usually when a guy has the longest reception in the history of a franchise, one would find other things to complain about than this. But then again, this is how things work in this day and age. People aren’t happy unless they can point the finger and blame people. Totally ridiculous.

I looked these up hoping they would be different, but oh well, here are the numbers.
Jackson ran a 4.46 (back in 2005).

Jenkins ran a 4.52 (in 2009).

Jackson should have outran him. Period. Unless he’s injured there is simply no reason he shouldn’t have put his foot on gas there at the end when he saw Jenkins closing in. He could clearly see the defender there because he changed how he was holding the ball. I don’t understand how he sees Jenkins there but doesn’t run just a little bit harder. Can’t comprehend it.

For you to say that one man wanted it more is very presumptive. I don’t buy that for one second, and no one else should either. So you don’t think Jackson wanted to have a 96 yard TD reception more than Malcolm Jenkins wanted a tackle on the stat sheet? Really? Unless you are blind, anyone could see Jackson wasn’t running right, but to say it was from a lack of effort or want to is ridiculous beyond words. When Ronde Barber got run down from behind against Cleveland in 2010, was it also from him not wanting it as much as the other guy?

He should have scored but it shouldn’t reflect his desire in any of our eyes. He got chased down by a faster man with an angle. I just wish he had an eye on the video board and cut inside.

I stil can’t get over how everyone thinks that at that time that 1 TD changes the out come of this game at that point. After that , time changes everything. It’s like saying “if I got up 5 mins earlier or later I would not have gotten a tickect. There would have been a point after then a kick off. After that they may have scored again,or held the ball for longer. More likely than not this last drive would never be. We lost because they made less mistakes and did what they had to. We gave Brees all day to throw. History shows, give Brees that much time he will clean your clock.
