I think the Bucs would see much better production from Martin if they spelled him with Blount more often throughout the game. Martin may be the next Marshall Faulk you never know, but for now he is a rookie who shows flashes. give him a breather and punish the defense with Big Blount, soften them up and then let the little muscle hamster break off some big gainers.

Was really nice to see the Bucs step on the gass for 4 quarters, Freeman looked impressive, but maybe even more so was the play of Mike Williams. Hope we see more of it in the weeks to come.

I’m going to be attending the Eagles game this year, and I will be leading the stadium in a chant for Blount. I haven’t’ decided if it is going to be “LIGHT UP THE BLOUNT!” or “PUT IN BLOUNT” though. Either way we have to get the man the ball. I wish he was the starter and Doug Martin was the third down change of pace guy. Unfortunately Dom made a trade to get him, so Martin has to be our guy………

I wouldn’t, however, get too caught up in the stats as far as YPC. Because he hasn’t ran the ball much, when you bust a couple ones like he did today, your YPC is going to sky rocket. However, it does earn you more playing time, and that’s exactly what he’s going to get. We are damn lucky to have 2 very capable backs, and 3 if you include Ware (who apparently nobody notices is playing very well).

I though Blount played excellent, and as bucyea said, he had some really nice pickups. I was very impressed by that. We are going to use him more and more as the year goes on, as it’s a long season. He’s going to be very fresh for the home stretch, which will only help us as the season progresses and Martin hits that rookie wall.

With the exception fo a few months with Jeff Fischer’s staff I suspect this is the first year Blount has had much direction on blocking.

I’m surprised nobody else noticed this. Blount did not come in as “the closer”. He came in as “the backup”. He went in when all the other backups did. The staff still hasn’t changed their mind.

He should AT LEAST be getting equal carries and showed that today. Hopefully Blount showed enough to Schiano to gain more touches in meaningful time.

Blount had 2 slobber-knocker blitz pick-ups. When I hear all the talk that he cant pass pro,and he cant catch the ball, I call B #%@#$in S. Its incumbant on the coaches to COACH. Blount is a weapon who energizes the entire stadium. Use him!!!!

Still think Blount should be the starter. Nothing against Martin, but I think Blount is more consistent and a bigger threat. Yeah I know the whole pass catching excuse which I think is bogus.. The guy has 8 Receptions in 4 Games.

Blount can’t catch the ball. Oh wait. Martin has drops too? How about putting them both in at the same time. Let the other defense guess? Did you see Lorig pull the LGB? Seen other players around the NFL do it too. Guess he is not stupid after all.

What ever happened to play going to the most productive? Check yards per play. Blunt hands down. Hamster distant second.
