I think we actually have some pretty good talent in Tampa. We have a pretty decent amount of players that are quality starters in the NFL. However, one thing we lack is a true superstar type player. We don’t really have anyone that teams are scared to death of, and must gameplan around. GMC probably has the greatest potential to be that type player, but he’s not there yet. We just don’t have any elite talent, which hurts us with the game on the line, because elite players make the big plays at crunch time. Also, until our QB plays well consistently, we will always struggle to win games.

Lack of Talented Depth.

We have a hard time just trying to get talent on the field at all 11 spots in every phase of the game.

The rebuild that will never end. The Bucs need to hire the Rays front office for the offseason. They can run a squad on a budget, and they have a great eye for talent.

The true “Rock Star” GM, Andrew Friedman.

sadly, i feel like since derrick brooks’ decline a couple years before he was cut, we have lacked a top 5 or 10 talent at any position besides perhaps Guard. only the bucs, browns, and maybe a couple other franchises can say that. we have a couple guys flashing all-pro ability now, and by this time next year, we will know just how much the previous coaching staff held back the talent on this team…..i see a couple potential all-pros on defense, but i just don’t see anybody on offense who could rise to that level besides nicks and the injured Joseph

Let’s remember that Rutgers pre-Schiano was the worst college football program in Divison One.

The worst.

Maybe Schiano’s record in the conference wasn’t the greatest, but he had some winning years and brought in some great talent.

Back to the NFL; The Bucs are thin on the defensive line, and it’s fair to question some of Mark Dominik’s free agent signings and draft picks, but let’s get through this season before we start throwing dirt on the Greg Schiano era. I think a bounce back win against Kansas City and a strong showing against the Saints will be telling. This team can’t afford to lose at home to Kansas City, bottomline.

Que bueno, Miguel! I hope the Bucs can turn things around as well as you have with your recent lucid, well-reasoned posts. I too think Lynch holds a bit of a grudge with the Bucs for how he was let go(understandably so) and let’s the Bucs have it with veiled comments. I will always appreciate what he brought to the Buc’s glory years of ’97-’02 however.

We have a lack of talent on the oline when considering injuries… so depth. Good teams have depth along the line… yet we got Harden.

Our QB is proving without a shadow of a doubt to be a bust. He reminds me of Big Bird now.

Our defense is razor thin al except for CB… unless you recalibrate expectations for Talib, Barber and Myron Lewis based on overall performance. They all give up some big killer plays.

The coaching is fine… except for not using Blount, running on every first down and of course the retarded kneel down defense being more formidable than the goal line stance.

Mark Dominic is a proven goof by now when considering Brian Price, drafting 2 physically altered DEs, drafting punters, TEs and HBS only to cut them later because we have no room on the roster for them. Dungy did a little better with drafts because he drafted safeties and CBs in the late rounds… you know, guys who can actually make the team.
