"What Doomed The Bucs"
IMO... Making a guy HC that had ZERO experience as a coordinator and then allowing him to influence them to draft a mediocre college Qb in the 1st round to lead a Muti-million dollar franchise, STILL having to endure this 4 years later with poor results and all the while expecting the fans to be mindless followers foolishly condoning these decisions by paying for such a poor product.... Again, just my opinion!

I agree that Freeman takes a while to get "warmed up" during games (2010 seems to support that observation). Since the most confident ball he seems to throw is the deep ball, why not let him take deep shots early? Serving notice to opposing defenses MAY EVEN OPEN UP THE RUN GAME! (gasp!)

Freeman has his flaws, but if he were instructed to do as just described, I'm confident we would have more wins.

It's amazing that even people who don't follow the Bucs (Steinberg in the vid didn't even know what our record was) are astounded when we don't use our most potent weapons until too late in the game.

Look a the other two QBs drafted in 09. Matt Stafford isn't under any pressure really because he has been performing decently and Mark Sanchez's replacement has already been brought in, we're just waiting for Rex to pull the trigger. Freeman has been given a better chance than most. He's had no competition at the position, his starting job has never been threatened. Hes been given 3 and a half years starting by the end of this season. It's time to prove he can do it or move on.

Steve k
The good news is this will be his make or break year for Free. Schiano is going to have a few years regardless of performance to turn this team around. I guarantee you if Free doesn't turn it around and become at least moderately consistent this season, Schiano won't tie his shot as head coach in the NFL to Freeman. So he's got this year and I would beet we make a move in the offseason or more likely the draft depending on our position.

@ bucfanjeff,

You are right on.

We need Freeman to establish consistency. He is far too talented of a player to be playing this poorly.

The headset play at Dallas, you know 3rd down and 9 yards to go, Freeman only thought to run the rock. You kidding me, you have Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams on the field.

Then, we try to sabotage the headset of the Redskins and RG3, but in the end RG3 can call a game, and he will be calling his own game soon enough.

When is Josh Freeman going to arive? When is he going to be able to go through reads and progressions? When will Freeman learn accuracy in passing? When will he win us some games?

Every other facet of the Bucs game has played well, but the QB.

Doug Martin sucking is not on Doug. It is on Josh for not being able to hit an open man 10-15 yards down the field.

Freeman needs to wake up. If not, I say we get a new QB.

Yeah it's pretty obvious to anyone who has watched Free that the one word to best describe him is inconsistent. Depending on the quarter he can remind you of Joey Harrington, Brad Johnson, or Brett Favre. Unless he figures out a way to play consistent we will be movingon from him after this season. You can't be successful in the NFL if your performance swings that drastically quarter to quarter. Even coaches don't know what they will get with him.

Is he accurate? Is he mobile? Will he make good decisions? Is he clutch? Is he interception prone? Can he go through his progressions? Will he stare down receivers? Does he have pocket awareness? Can he make his reads and deliver the ball quickly enough? Is he too timid and hesitant? The answer to all those questions is sometimes, depending on the quarter. And that just doesnt cut it.
