Agreed, but what would you say if we could get a back that could get 1800 yards instead of 1000? That’s how much potential Richardson has. This is the very reason why he is the perfect pick for us, because we now have such a great offensive line. Having a great RB does very little good if you have a poor offensive line, but when you give a great Rb a great offensive line, great things happen. This is going to help the receivers (more single coverage because teams will be almost forced to put 7-8 guys in the box on every snap), it’s going to help Freeman, and it’s going to help the defense (keeping them off the field and rested). Even Blount will benefit from Richardson (and vice versa), because we will continue to pound them snap after snap, and there is nothing they can do about it. And oh yeah, he will also be one of the best pass-catching RB’s, and he will protect Freeman in pass protection as well. You know he’s the right guy when the only negative thing you can say about him is “he’s not in a position of need” and “you shouldn’t draft a RB that early”. Notice how you don’t hear anything negative about him as a player, not even anything off the field. He’s as much of a sure thing as anyone in this draft (although no one is a sure thing).

I’ve been saying it for 6 weeks now, Kalil is the man. You can pencil his name into the Ring of Honor, right between Jimmie Giles and Leroy Selmon. It will be about 18 years before they color in those letters but it’s a sure thing.

I never said to panic, trade up and mortgage our future to secure him, just to be patient. It’s our destiny.
