Excuse me? I am assuming you are mistaking me for someone else. Where did I ever say anything about diminishing what he did on the field? All I said was it needs to be looked into. Get you panties out of your arse and don’t attack me for just saying that. Smart money says he will be a great pro, but what is wrong with our GM doing some research and finding out the story of why his score was so low? Millions of dollars is to be invested on him, it would be moronic not to. But nah, let’s just ignore the lowest score of all time and throw money at him without doing research!!!!

rdbucfan. Your comment about short yardage is simply one of the small list of things he’ll learn with an awesome line, better coaching decisions and a proven NFL RB as his coach. Of course he tiptoed before hitting holes that weren’t there. He had Faine trying to run block. pffft. He’ll work on that with Byner and hit the road-grated caverns opened by Penn/Nicks/Zuttah/DJ.
and… “he would’ve done anything to stay on the file at all times”??? “Mr.Olsen, I think your Benn’d around is geigh” Ridiculous scheming, piss-poor run blocking, not feeding him like they should’ve, and playing from behind immediately in every game, and a lack of an offseason all led to him not meeting his true potential.

@SteveK…we’re not talking about ‘that’ kind of football. We’re talking american football. You may be a soccer player but apparently you know nothing about what a ‘compliment’ back is. Trent Richardson would be a luxury pick and it’s one we don’t need. Doug Martin in round 2 along with Blount behind our O-line would be better than just about any other teams O-line and Richardson. He’s a great RB but we need Claiborne far more than we need Richardson.

I don’t like the comment, it’s not a team first response. It’s a me first response. He should have refused to answer or went with the company response that if it helps us win or makes us a better team I’m all for it.

Those that state Blount is a feautre back are wrong. This guy is 250 pounds and tiptoes to the line of scrimage. You can’t be a feature back and wait for a hole to open on short yardage situations. Those that say we don’t need Blount to get the short yardage plays, that Freeman can handle that. Do you really want your franchise QB taking those kind of hits? I don’t.

Blount is scared of contact unless it’s a defensive back. Even then he would rather try and jump over them than run over or through them. A 250 pound running back scared of contact is not a #1 running back.

If Blount wanted to be the guy, he would have done anything and everything to be on the field all of the time. You don’t need coaches to learn the playbook. Do you think Freeman, Faine or even Zuttah would have said no to LGB if he asked them for help learning the protections. I seriously doubt it. This is on him and nobody else.

I love that attitude vs. the usual BS we hear from players… Lets give him a pass on last year… if he doesn’t perform this year we can grab a back next year. RB is an ideal position to target in the middle of the first round because they don’t go early, so lets assume we pick 20th next year, and if Blount fails we are in a great spot to get the best RB in next years draft to go with the speed back we grab in Rnd 3 this year and the DB and LB we grab in the first 2 rounds this year.

I think its refreshing to read a player saying what he thinks instead of reading about all the PC, “well I welcome the competition….if its good for the team then I’m all for it…”

Let’s be real if the Bucs took a RB with their #5 pick do you REALLY think that the RB wouldn’t get as much, if not more, touches than Blount? Teams don’t their high paid draft picks sitting on the bench.

Blount is just being blunt about this and I think the world would be a better place if more people did that instead of being PC.
