Frankly, it’s a smart move for Joe. Look at the reaction Joe generates with most of the ‘rockstar’ articles. Love or hate the nickname, it gets people talking so kudos to Joe for that.

I’m not saying he hasn’t done good. He got value for Gaines Adams. He got Blount. But everyone one of those, you have a bad one. Mike Nugent for instance. 2 million guaranteed as a vested vet, and he spent a single month on the roster. He ditched Matt Bryant to get him…Clayton, Ward, Black, and so on.

He still has MUCH to prove.

Got two bona fide all pros signed.

Gotta give credit for that.

Those are the first two drafts. Who has proven themselves? And if you stay hurt, you can’t prove yourself. Stroughter was nice, but, will be fighting for a roster spot on August.

Fat Albert was on Dom. So was Favre. Both would have been high cost blunders.

And I disagree with your evaluation of the draft picks. One bad year does not a bad team make.

But, aside from that…

…many of his draftee’s are only in their second or third year this season. So it’s a season or two early on most of them. I would say Blount has worked out…and he was “acquired”. Yes…he fumbled a few times, but not nearly as badly as everyone says…especially not compared to Preston Parker…who people seem to think is a “star”.

The players entering their 3rd year are the ones who will be a determining factor on the quality of his drafts…GMC, Price, Sammy…

Although Blount is entering his 3rd year…he has yet to be trained in an off season…so I think he at least deserves an extra season to train…although I think this year will be his true breakout year.

And btw…Dominick also acquired Nicks, Jackson and Wright…all of which are already proven. So add 3 more to your list.

I like the signings this year, but, they have to do it on the field before they can be critiqued.

But, lots of misses in the draft. Lots of misses in Free agency. Ward? He attempted to sign Fat Albert. Even I could see he loafed until the contract year in Tennessee.

There’s been some good but, geez. I like Free, but, he is still not a 100% sure thing. The first thing he needs to learn to do is admit his mistakes instead of being bull-headed: Clayton, Black.

None of his picks have made a real impact for us, except for maybe Clayborn. Williams is ok for where he was drafted.

Also, I’m not gonna forget about the millions thrown down the drain on Clayton and Black. That was just pure stupidity. If not for the Black contract, we couldve had room for an extra big signing!

But he did get us some good free agents this month, so I’ll give him credit where it’s due.
