Hey Joe what about trading our #1 pick for Mike Wallace and THEN adding Ward to our team for a reduced salary, heck even veteran minimum in the hopes that Ward would be like a player/coach, only playing maybe 10 plays a game in critical situations. Meanwhile Ward helps Wallace learn the new system and works with Williams and Benn to develop?

Joe’s OK with getting Wallace for the No. 5 pick. But Ward is done. Good guy; great player/teammate. His wheels are shot.

Remember the Steelers are a playoff team and one year removed from the Super Bowl. If Kevin Colbert thought Ward would help them, he wouldn’t be walking the streets right now.

There IS a lot to be said for veteran leadership and a hard working TEAM MENTALITY – something the Bucs sadly lacked last year!

He would be a great addition to our team. He dug his own grave by helping Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, and the other younger Pitt receivers develop. He COACHED his own competition for the sake of the TEAM!!… Hines would be a great addition to our team. 2 year contract. Help Williams, Benn, Parker, and Briscoe develop(or 2009 quartet)…..But we would still need to add a true number 1 in Free agency…. Hines would just be our solid #5/6 receiver/leader in the lockeroom….But of course we wouldnt do this. I’m just sayin….

Hines Ward is a winner but you tend to get old playing football…..fast.
