Joe…I guess in your profession it could come in handy for news bytes. I was more referring to the culture that’s been formed around it in general. Since I’m not in the media or affected by it even indirectly (like Dominik for example) it’s just more an annoyance than an asset. Just my take.

I love a good blog but hate the twits who obsess with Twitter. What sort of idiocy have we descended into that we believe anything worth communicating can be expressed in 140 characters? I can’t even fart in less than 140 characters. Is that worth listening to? What a dumbass Beavis & Butthead culture we’ve become.

Twitter is what you make it out to be. If you follow the OchoStinkos, Paris Hilton’s of the world, then you get crapola.

If you follow well-informed, reasoned people, you’ll be the smartest person on the block. No different than someone who reads the National Enquirer over the Wall Street Journal. Just because someone reads the National Enquirer doesn’t mean libraries should be shut down and anything printed on paper is worthless.

Personally, Joe finds Twitter to be a priceless gem for information.
