Im almost as excited for Carolina to take Newton as im to who the Bucs pick. I feel like he will give the Bucs an automatic 2 game sweep every year for at least the first couple years. He reminds me of Michael Vick. He’s the type of guy who will struggle to learn an NFL offense and to read NFL defenses but if and when he gets it , as Vick finally seems to have done, he could be an elite QB. However, unlike Vick, he is a good runner but NOT so lightning fast and agile that his running ability will singlehandedly make him competitive while he learns to be a true NFL caliber passer. In other words, even if he does eventually fulfill his promise, I think the Bucs will get to take serious advantage of him for a few years in the meantime. Gabbert is the guy who could take that Carolina running game and use it to be competitive in year one and I seriously hope the kitties don’t come to their senses and draft him.

Newton has great athletic ability, but he’s no NFL quarterback.

Either Bowers or Clayborn will be there. Then in the 2nd go (OT) carpenter/Gilbert or (CB) House/Brown. If you want another DE, there is Romeus in the 3rd or Elmore in the 5th. Use the other 3rd to get a (TE) Kendricks/Housler.
