Well at least we will know/should know tomorrow, unless they trade out of round 1. Maybe the Bengals or Bills move up for a QB. I wouldn’t mind having another high 2 and 3 in the process. But if Bowers is there at 20, I’m running to the podium. I still would be happy if they draft Mark Ingram as well, knee and all.

Couldn’t agree with you more gotbucs. From the tape I have watched so far I can’t for the life of me understand how Clayborn gets rated 8th out of the de’s. Everyone is so big on Aldon Smith but from what I have seen he is only explosive out of dt, and misses tackles frequently. I mean he looks to have great speed, and effort but something about him makes me uncomfortable. I don’t claim to be a draft guru, but I feel there are only 2 de’s that could fall to that slot that are solid. Those are Clayborn,and Kerrigan. I still have some film to watch but from what I have found and reviewed thus far Clayborn just feels like the best chance to get someone that fits perfectly football wise.

I think if Quinn is still there at 9 Dominik will be on the phone with Jerry Jones. It would take a pretty good junk of our draft to move up that far but I think he’s pretty easily the best 4-3 end in this class. If that deal doesn’t get done could see them either sitting put and choosing Clayborn or moving back a few picks and grabbing him. The 20th pick I think could be a spot where QB needy teams will try to get into to try and lock up one of the 2nd tier QB’s in this draft.
Honestly, I think Clayborn is probably the most solid all around DE in this draft and brings alot to the table in the running and passing game. He is very technically sound and has a good mean streak.

Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to draft Bailey in the 2nd and Romeus in the 4th (1st round talent). Then, we could use our 1st round pick on Jimmy Smith. Or send our 1st and 3rd to some tema like Detroit and jump up to get Amukamara. Anthony Costanzo or Gabe Carimi would be solid picks too…. there is so much we can do on Thurs Fri and Saturday.

Well I just saw the Bucs hosted Adrian Clayborn with one of their final visits. I can’t say I would love the pick but he would upgrade the run defense from day one for sure, even if he never developed into a sack artist.

Kerrigan’s tape and combine results should speak for themselves. From what I have seen his speed rush around the edge is superior to Aldon Smith’s. Smith’s best rushes seem to come when he moves inside to DT.

As far as Allen Bailey goes I would LOVE for him to fall to the Bucs in round 2. He may not have shown that he is an impact pass rusher in college yet but he should help the Bucs run defense from day one and he won’t need to be an all world pass rusher to surpass the ZERO sacks the esteemed Kyle Moore has come up with from the left end spot.

Pawlowski- Why is there still this stigma attached to Ryan Kerrigan that he somehow doesn’t have right defensive end type speed, traditional edge rusher type speed? I’ve seen him with great edge rushes from the right side on tape and he was one of the fastest defensive ends at the combine. Im thinking there is a little bit of a “slow white guy” stereotyping going on with Kerrigan.

My two favorite ends in the draft are coincidentally Robert Quinn and Aldon Smith. They are risky but either one could be an annual 10+ sack a year guy. They could also flame out too, though Quinn is less likely to.

I personally am not as high on JJ Watt as some. Seems like a solid 3-4 guy but I don’t think that he’ll ever be a Pro Bowl type player, lower risk lower reward type.

I want Bowers to fall to 20 and the Bucs to have the last laugh as his knee doesn’t become an issue for the rest of his career. But if he’s falling to 20, his knee is far from good. Depending on the medicals he could fall out of round one, which is incredible given his pedigree and production. C’est la vie.

Quinn is the only guy worth moving up for, but he’d still have to take a big drop to 9 or 11 for us to even consider it. If he falls to 15 I’m sure we’d be working the dolphins to trade up. Unfortunately, I don’t think he makes it to even 9.

It would cost to much in trade to make that move happen in result making it not worth it. Von Miller is a top 5 pick for us to move up that for it would be multiple picks, just not worth it.
