Thomas 2.2:

Joe will ask this for the fourth time. Joe doesn't like being ignored and played on his own site.

If you are going to blame Rah for the 3-13 season, please, Joe asks once again, who gets the credit for the 10-6 season?

If you are going to rail on the coach for a rotten season in 2009, Joe believes you should only be fair in giving the same coach credit for turning the team around.

Or are you just simply looking for attention?

For every reason you slam Rah for 2009 -- which is not out of bounds by the way -- Joe can give another reason to give Rah props for 2010.

Or in your eyes did the 2010 season not even happen?

Also, they were not as bad from a talent standpoint as 3-13 they were just horribly coached to underperform.

Every major decision rah made was a joke: from moving phillips to backer then back to safety; to supporting the retention of mccown at 2 mill then handing lefty the job; then the coordinators, to changing the schemes without the personnel . .

Thomas 2.2, I bleed red and crap pewter, but I will openly admit that none of the Morris/Dominick picks have proven themselves yet.

Now, before everyone jumps my case, let me clarify.

Think back to Michael Clayton and Caddy. Great rookie years, and never did anything good after that. We Bucs fans have seen plenty of one year wonders, so in order for any of the draft picks to "prove themselves", they have to do well more than one year straight.

Most would say that Freeman is not a bust...but if we're honest, we do not know that for certain YET. Certainly, his rookie year was nothing to brag about.

His second year (last year) he did very well.

So if he can do well again this year, I would consider him a proven commodity.

As far as the others, Williams could turn out to be another Clayton for all we know. Grimm looked good, but so did Sabby at first (who also got injured his rookie year).

Mind you...I am not saying that they are busts...I'm saying they need to repeat their good performances to prove they have staying power and are not busts. And this lockout isn't going to help them improve.

All of that said...I believe most of the picks so far will work out well for us. Freeman, Williams and Grimm seem very good. I suspect Benn will have a breakout year this year.

I also think McCoy, Price and Miller will become studs as they develop, and I think McCoy will do much better this year.

This is also the year Miller needs to breakout. Otherwise he's in danger of becoming a permanant backup.

Thomas 2.2:

I guess going 3-13 changes perspective and rah gets no blame for that embarrassment.

If, as you suggest, Morris should be blamed for the team going 3-13 in 2009 -- never mind that the team was gutted before his first game -- then who should get the credit for the team winning 10 games last season.

Thomas we heard it all before Morris tore up that great team that Gruden left him,we all know Dominic and freeman ,Grimm,Blount, alot of luck an easy schedule and a full moon helped us win ten games while Morris sat on his thumb. He is the reason for 3-13 and had nothing to do with 10-6,Dungy got us to the playoff Gruden won the superbowl we fired Gruden too early because we were on the brink of winning it again, did I get everything right there sheep?

Weneed: freeman was a "great" pick, mike williams and cidy grimm probably also. After that the draftees all have huge question marks. For some reason, the dungy and gruden standard of just making the playoffs has been lowered dramatically by most on this blog.

I guess going 3-13 changes perspective and rah gets no blame for that embarrassment. If they step back, the sheep best hold him accountable.

"If they pull off another great one, they will go down as the best the Bucs have ever had and will cement their legacy for years to come."

Huh???

I thought statues were made for Super Bowl champions, multiple division titles, multiple winning seasons with play off appearances.

Remember, the horrible Jon Gruden got fired for going 9-7 and missing the playoffs. But he does have a statue of him and his team at one buc place.

So, will having another 'premature successful draft' get Raheem and Mark a statue next to Gruden?

"great success" not in 2010 if you eliminate ufa's. Remember, they drafted mccoy with the number 3 overall pick. Not 3rd round, 3 overall, mccoy was outplayed by okam and bennett and price in the preseason.
Freeman, williams, grimm appear to be excellent picks but what else is known?
