Kenyatta Walker was a bust coming out of Florida so I suppose all Florida players are busts too. Dwayne Jarrett out of USC was a bust so all USC players are busts. Starting to make sense to you? I think there is another factor that comes into play here, to consider. Which defense will Raheem run?
If Rah is trying to go back to more a true cover-2 and do away with this 3-4 rushing crap, then the skill set of the player comes into play. A guy like Robert Quinn is a lot more in the mold of a Simeon Rice. A true 5 technique (lines up on the tackles outside shoulder). Bowers looks to me on film like a guy that can possess a rip move and have an inside rush. Like he has ability to play in the 4 spot if needed. If that’s the case, he won’t come off the field as much with a 3-4 base D alignment.
Is this the ‘chicken or the egg’ dilemma? Do the Bucs go after ‘best available talent’ and let that dictate defensive scheme, or do they have a solid scheme in mind and need to find the right player to fit?`

If it turns out that he needs micro fracture surgery then nobody is going to touch him, including the Bucs. I love his skill set but this team has had so damn many guys on IR the last few years that I’d rather see a fully healthy guy that maybe ranks a little lower overall drafted.

Yeah, I want a guy that only decided to work hard for one season because his mentor (Gaines Adams) died. That kind of inspiration only comes around once in a career. We have no idea whether it carries over into the rest of his career. Too big of a risk in my opinion. He’s got all the raw talent in the world and can do great things if he’s motivated. The last part is what comes into question.

Snook- You are a mental retard. Go drown yourself in your toilet bowl. Clearly you didn’t listen to the podcast or know the first thing about DaQuan Bowers. Bowers is a big beefy powerful 280 lb monster of a 4-3 DE. Gaines Adams was a long lean 260 lb. pussy. People who compare players to other players from the same school as if that makes them the same or even similar players are brainless. Anyone who has studied the draft at all knows that the guy who brings echoes of Gaines Adams is Georgia DE Justin Houston who always seems to make all his plays on edge rushes with nothing in the way of inside moves.

As far as him falling to #20. Aint gonna happen. Im fully on board with trading up for him if he slips to a spot that the Bucs are comfortable trading up to.
