I have seen 3rd and short run plays in the last 3 games where Blount runs it and don’t make it, and runs it and don’t make it we can’t have it both ways we run or pass at the same time, for me I don’t think our O-line is good at sort yardage on ANY down. Time and time again we have short yardage and we run and don’t make the push forward we just stand there and the back has to create the push forward, just once I would like our O-line to step out first before stepping back. Yeah what do I know I am not nor never have been a player but it only looks like the obvious thing to me we need 2 yards(6 feet) and our O-line steps side to side or stands there, never forward. And we rarely get the first down.

I have to agree I am sick of people saying “oh well were 7-4 and no one expected us to be this good blah blah blah”. We could be 9-2 if not for Greg Olson and his bullsh*t playcalling, but yeah let’s just settle for 7-4 who cares if we could be better.

I don’t buy the excuse that we never expected to be 7-4. We are 7-4 and since we are and are showing talent I expect them to push to win by playing to the strengths we have. If we were 4-7 maybe give that excuse. We should be playing to win every game. Especially when we have the talent to win. I have no dillusions about the Super Bowl but I think that we should be building on each win every week and pushing harder, through game plan, to make the playoffs since we are in a position to get there. No more excuses for the Defense and the coaching staff. Just do it, we have proven we have the talent to build on now lets get better through coaching players up.

BamBam and Hawaiian Buc- spot on . Both nailed it. We should have went to the spred offense in the 3rd quarter. It’s been Baltimores Achilles heel.surprised how knowledgeable Tim Ryan was in the Booth. He had really done his homework, and that is so rare today!!! Pessimist-still wrong, still a tool. But amazingly consistent, for what that’s worth.

I disagree that in this game Blount didn’t get enough carries. Having only 13 carries is a little misleading because there were stretches when we were going 3 and out every drive, so of course he’s not going to get as many carries. Plus, we had to abandon the run in the 4th quarter because we were down 2 TD’s. Fact is, it is damn near impossible to run the ball consistently on the Ravens. And we have not proven that we can run the ball on 3rd and short and pick up first downs (unless it is Freeman doing the running). I agree with the announcers that we probably should have spread the Ravens out a little more and challenged their secondary, because they are just too good up front to pound it on them. We seemed to play a little more conservative than in the last few games, but I’m sure it’s because they didn’t want to make a critical turnover. I personally didn’t like the offensive game plan, but it had nothing to do with Blount not having enough carries.

Worst thing from todays game was the 9 penalties. Most on special teams giving us horrible field position. Two that I can recall by Koutivides, and another by Hayward I believe.

Yeah, I know Freeman was off on a lot of his passes. He was under a lot of pressure as the line wasn’t giving him much protection. Sure, we can blame the horrendous pass interference call that set up the Ravens second TD. But penalties on special teams will absolutely kill both offense and defense.

No one honestly expected us to be at 7-4, or to beat the Ravens this year. We can take away from this game that the D is improving and we’ve taken both Atlanta and Baltimore to the end of games (which is more than most expected preseason). We’ve still got a chance at the playoffs, although that’s another thing nobody expected.
