Joe,
You are delivering in the clutch, getting the inside on the DL issues is substantial coverage! I think this thing is playing out exactly how it should, the pretenders are being weeded out and the keepers are rising to the top. Wash is one of the last few remaining pieces that was a quick hire that should be gone and he will be based on performance in the off-season.

LOL Posey I thought the exact same thing when i read that comment. I bet there have been hundreds of linemen who have been “close” their entire careers but never got it and therefore never stuck in the league.

Off subject but relates to the defensive play.

No doubt they go DE in round 1. I have been saying the next two picks should be a MLB and another De in no particular order (I think they should go after Sheppard, the MLB at LSU- he should be there in round 2).

HOWEVER, if Deunta Williams SS at UNC is there in round 2…. tough call. He is a big safety with speed who hits. He is also a ball hawk. Why he is projected in round 2-3 right now… I don’t know. have a feeling he’ll be goinng up and this will be a moot point.

I think mccoy will be fine, but what a stupid statement by wash:

“He’s really, I’d say, five plays away from having five sacks”

Ummm duh… idiot yeah and he’s 10 plays away from having 10 sacks

I don’t know if it’s exactly an all-star cast on the Lions D-line, but they do have some above average guys.

Vanden-Bosch was a Pro-Bowler a year or two ago, and Corey Williams has historically been a beast when he’s played DT, rather than DE in a 3-4 like he was playing for the Browns and Green Bay.

Honestly, I think Suh was, is, and always will be a world-beater at DT, and that he’ll have a better career than GMC if he can avoid injuries.

That said, McCoy can still be a Pro-Bowler, and a star for us on defense, provided we get some talent around him and a NEW LINE COACH.
