We probably should all temper our expectations of sacks from price and McCoy altogether. Other than Sapp and John Randle I can’t name a d-tackle in the 20 years I have been watching football that had consistant multiple sack seasons. Even Albert Haynesworth, who was considered to have the best season of any D-tackle(since Sapp)in 2008 with Titans, only had 8.5 sacks that season. And that was the most in his career. Realistically 6-10 sacks a year for a d-tackle is great performance. It’s more important to be a run stuffer from that position(and McCoy admittedly hasn’t looked good at that the last 3 games). But the fact is Sapp is not the measuring stick for d-tackles. He was far and away the best pass rusher ever in that position. Labeling McCoy a bust if he doesn’t approach Sapp like sack numbers would be like calling a QB a bust because he didn’t become the next Peyton Manning. Or a RB a bust for not being like Barry Sanders. You get the picture(or at least you should).

Thomas…Sapp did not light it up his first two years, but by your way of thinking we should hve sent him packing. You may not want to hear that d lineman develope slower than other positions, but it is pretty well documented. The same with Benn, most rookie wide outs do not have great first years. There are exceptions of course, see Mike Clayton. The Lion’s should actually be better, since they always are in the top of the draft. Suh is looking good with 4.5 sacks and an INT, but the greates stat of all is how many wins your team has…I believe the Lions have 1.

Lorig was absolutely blowing guys up last week. I think we’ve found our true FB. Now if he can catch the ball in the flat and run short yardage, he’d be pretty amazing. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. If he use to play TE, you’d assume he has the ability.

I am so ready to have a 520lbs monster backfield of Blount and Lorig. Grab a road grader LG in next years draft and we could really have something.

Suh plays on a line with Corey Williams, Vanden Bosch and Cliff Avril who have a combined 20 years experience in the league.

McCoy is playing next to Greg White (4 years), Moore (2nd year player) and Miller (2nd year player).

Have some perspective before you start labeling players as busts. I’m sure you’re way worse at your job than McCoy is at his.

playing along side vonder bosch and cory williams has nothing to do with suh being ale to get those plays?be for real mccoy and price will be fine

Next year we need to get the best fullback in the draft. If Cadillac doesn’t return, I say we get a good running back like Ingram or Murray to pair with Graham and Huggins.

Thomas- are you serious? Suh is the most hyped defensive draftee of all time. So you think of Price and McCoy don’t come out of the gate like him then they are already busts? They have shown flashes, mainly in the first two games. Your an idiot if you judge a d-lineman as a bust after three bad games in the beginning of their rookie season. They played well against lesser teams like Cleveland and Carolina. McCoy will have plenty of chances against mediocre to bad teams- St.louis, Detroit, Seattle, Arizona, San Fran, Carolina again. If he doesn’t have a handful of sacks by the end of the season then you can call him a bust.

@ Thomas I dont wanna give up on mccoy yet but in collage Suh had I think like 10 sacks in the pass happy big 12 while mccoy only had 5 sacks and I watched mccoys bowl game Stanford and gearhart ran the ball down there throat like teams are running the ball down are throat add to it tha mccoy had the lowest bench reps at combine. I hope he turns out ok but he still has a long way to go
