@Pete: The reason Zuttah didn’t replace Faine last year is because he was our starting LG and we had no replacement.

Jeff – With Freeman being so tall, why aren’t we seeing more dumpoffs over the middle to Caddy and Graham to put them in space. Seems like that would be so simple. Caddy’s dropping the screens for some reason. But that’s part of Gruden’s offense that might help them on first and second down.

I think we are getting no pass rush and more INTS because we stay in the 3-3-5 all day. I don’t like it and neither do most other fans, but I think it’s being done out of need more than anything. With Grimm, Sabby, and Jones at safety I think Rah feels we need that 5th DB in the secondary or else we’ll get burned. With Grimm playing up close like a SS/LB, and doing it very well, the 3-3-5 could actually start working for us IF we can start getting pressure with just 3 D-linemen and one blitzer.

Since Grimm is playing up close to the line like a 4th LB, what we really need is a hybrid guy that can stand up and rush as an OLB. Next year I can see Black sliding over to MLB and a rookie like Quinn or Jeremy Beal filling that spot. Untill then, maybe we could try Watson or Bennett there? Black just isn’t getting it done as a pass rusher. If we don’t get pressure on Brees this weekend, he will tear us apart.

Expect a moving pocket on occasion now. Faine is a loss but Center is Zuttah’s best position probably. Let’s hope it pans out.

Excellent stuff Jeff. I still don’t undersand when they’re not moving the pocket a bit and getting more creative, espeically to get Winslow open.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released beleaguered punter Chris Bryan after a subpar performance at Cincinnati, the St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune reported Tuesday, and the team is expected to sign one of three punters who had tryouts.

I thought the guy had a couple poor kicks, but he wasn’t bad. Nevertheless, here we go on another round of musical kickers, this time for the punter position.

Let’s see…musical kicker (punter) and Faine injured…why does this seem familiar????

The loss of Faine is going to be a huge problem. Fans tend to claim he isn’t that good, but you watch how the Oline does without him.

Mahan was a nightmare, and I swear to God if Dominick calls the guy to fill in, I will boycott all the games till he’s gone.

Zuttah will likely get the Center spot for now…but let’s be honest…Morris could have done that last year and he didn’t…there must be a reason, right? Then again…he certainly cannot be worse than Mahan.
