Im from AR where Matt Jones played college ball and my understanding of the events that got him in trouble was he was caught with some friends in Fayettville AR in a parked car,where he was a passenger. No it doesnt make it ok but from my understanding he was not driving. He went to court and because it was his first brush with the law they gave him the oppertunity to go to a court ordered rehab program. In which he did. He also chose to go through the NFL drug rehab program. He was doing fine in the rehab programs with one exception he played golf ith friend and had a beer or two. This violated his drug court probation. The NFL program he was going through had stated it was not a violation of probation to have an alcoholic drink. But it was in the State run drug rehab program. therfore he violated his probation and was in trouble again and was sent to jail. He said he was sorry he didnt realize it was a violation of his probation. Since then he has completed his Rehab and has kept his nose clean. He has been working out in Florida trying to get into football shape. Hoping for the chance t play again. Now how many of us have had a beer or two on the golf course? he didnt violate the terms of the NFL rehab program. Something else ive heard is he is lazy but I dont believe that he just looks like he is not trying but go back and look at some of his college highlight it looks like he is half trying but is running away from the defenders like they are sitting still. Well enough said I think if a team would give him a second chance they would be suprised. And I think he would be an compliment not a disruption….

oar…absolutely correct, we must all grow up start making responsible decisions. Part of making responsible decisions is to stop making self destructive decisions. If this guy Matt Jones wants to be a part of a football team, then knock off the bullspit.
I don’t want these, drug, alcohol induced, wife beating people on the street where they may injuyr my family or friends.

Dee, “How they unwind has nothing to do with me.” or until they kill you or someone you know in a car wreck. My “knee jerk reaction” to drugs is I don’t care what you do in your off time, but you go out in public(where anyone of us can be) and I have issues, especially if you are driving under the influence of whatever. BTW those presidents suck/sucked.
Kirk, I understand where you’re coming from(see above) and understand misstakes, but there has to be a time to grow up. It sucks I know, cause I had too!

Oar….Yes, I did some very stupid and unwise things in my life when I was as old as 25 and nothing to proud of I might add. Now, I do not do drugs and if I choose to bend an elbow, I drink at home or my wife drives.
I still believe people do unwise things they are sorry for later. If we kick everyone to the cub that has fu**ed up, there will be hardly anyone left on the sidewalk.

The kneejerk reaction to drugs around here is ridiculous. Know who else did coke? Our current and former presidents. Both sides of the aisle, both with major achievements and flaws.

This attitude Joe has isn’t useful for football analysis. Watch the player on the field and in the locker. How they unwind has nothing to do with me.

Kirk, “Have you ever drank alcohol and driven a vehicle or did any drugs as a youth?” What is an age you consider youth? Matt was 25 at the time of his arrest and is 26 now(rehab). I did stupid things to in my youth(highschool and maybe first year of college), but come on man! Well I guess he did have a Razor-back for a mascot in college.
