“He Has His Own Kind Of Light”

March 18th, 2019

Bucs fans are hoping Deone Bucannon landing in Tampa will return him to his glory season of 2015, when he was a versatile defensive force in the middle of a Cardinals team that was one victory from the Super Bowl.

Since then, Bucannon has been a whole lot of meh, which is why the Bucs were able to sign him for just $2.5 million last week on a 1-year, prove-it deal.

Bucannon, 26, had nothing earth-shaking to say to local media on Friday, when he met them at One Buc Palace. But the video is below for you to enjoy.

Among the highlights, he’ll play at 215 pounds but says he can play on all three levels of the defense effectively. Bucannon says Todd Bowles is a true defensive genius who often knows what’s going to happen before it happens, and Bucannon can’t wait to study Lavonte David, who he calls a “blueprint” guy to learn from about how things are done and to be great.

And of course, Bucannon is a huge fan of Bucco Bruce Arians, who he says “has his own kind of light” when he commands a room and leads a team.

  11. Bucsfanman Says:

I’m excited to see what we get out of Bucannon.

  12. DanBucsFan Says:

Bucannon could prove to be a steal, especially if he returns to form and becomes a leader of the defense. Burfict however is not worth testing the waters, to many concussions. Houston would be an amazing addition if we could somehow trade Brate or restructure Gmc.

  18. Belligerentbuc Says:

Lol…Let’s call it what it is and not be coy.

We are scraping the bottom of the barrel with one year prove it deals.

These are the effects of overstretched cap space, missing on draft picks, and poor coaching.

Looking forward to the new coaching staff put players in position to be aggressive. See Duffners D vs Smitty

This guy has wheels & heart… Hopefully he works out great
